Why reading for pleasure?
•It is the easiest way to become a better and faster reader
•It helps us many important things about English such as grammar, vocabulary and good writing, even the culture of English speakers
How to read for pleasure?
•Choose your own book, by previewing it1. Read the front cover and back cover.
Does it seem interesting?2. How long is it? A short book is better to
start with3. Are there any pictures? Pictures help you
understand4. Check the level of difficulty of the book.
Should be not too easy nor too difficult5. The book should be interesting to you
Getting the most from pleasure reading•Read your book everyday. Keep a record
of number of pages you read each day•Guess the meaning of unknown words or
skip them. •After finishing the book, tell your teacher.
She may talk about it or ask you to tell the class or write about it
