Think of a word that starts with blended sounds, such as brag, slip, or trap. For example, say brag and have your child say brag and identify and clap each sound in the word. Then ask your child what word would be left if you take away the r sound (say the sound, not the letter). Have your child say bag and identify and clap each of the sounds in the word.
