    Vacworks II

    The Vacworks II CD contains: Link to the Graham Web site Technical Library Vacworks II Selection Software

    Technical Library:The Technical Library is a collection of informative technical articles authored byGraham engineers and published in various engineering periodicals. The articles covera variety of vacuum and heat transfer topics. Before you can access the technicallibrary, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.To install Adobe Acrobat Reader:Click on the START button and select RUN. Then choose BROWSE. Then selectthe file called ar405eng.exe located on the CD under the Acrobat directory. Thenselect RUN and follow the installation instructions.

    To use the Technical Library, run Adobe Acrobat Reader and open the file called_Contents.PDF located on the CD under the directory TechArts. This is thetable of contents for all the articles in the library. The articles are accessed by clickingon the article title.

    Vacworks II Selection Software:Vacworks II is the second generation of our popular Vacworks program. Thissoftware package includes a variety of useful calculations ranging from vacuumsystem design to a handy calculator type program.

    Before installing Vacworks II, we recommend that your system is at least a Pentium166Mhz system running a 32-bit Windows operating system. Vacworks II has beentested on systems running Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 (service pack4.0), and Windows 2000.

    Vacworks II InstallationIf you are a new Vacworks user, skip to To install Vacworks II, otherwiseplease note: The default installation location for Vacworks (original and Vacworks II) is

    C:\Graham\Vacworks. Since Vacworks II includes all the features of the original Vacworks and since

    Vacworks II will read the input data files created using the original version ofVacworks, it is highly recommended that the original Vacworks be uninstalledbefore installing Vacworks II.

    Installing over an existing installation without first removing it may damagethe installation or cause future attempts to remove the installation to fail.

    If you wish to keep the original Vacworks and install Vacworks II, you mustchoose a different directory than the default during the installation, such asC:\Graham\VacworksII.

    To uninstall the original version of Vacworks:At the windows screen:a) Double click on My Computer. Then double click on Control Panel.b) Double click on Add/Remove Programs. Single click on Vacworks. Single

    click on Remove. Single click on OK.c) To close the Control Panel box, click on the x in the upper, right-hand corner.

    To install Vacworks IIVacworks II is installed by running a program called setup.exe located on the CDunder the directory Vacworks. The step by step installation procedure is asfollows.At the windows screen:a) Make sure that the Vacworks CD is inserted and that no diskette is inserted.b) Double click on My Computer. Then double click on Control Panel.c) Double click on Add/Remove Programs.d) Single click on Install. Single click on Next. Single click on Browse.e) Select the setup.exe program located on the CD under the directory

    Vacworks.f) Click finish.g) Follow the instructions through the installation process1 .h) To close the Control Panel box, click on the x in the upper, right-hand corner.

    To run Vacworks II, click: Start, then click programs, and then click Vacworks. 1 If you are keeping the original Vacworks, be sure to enter a different installation location (see above).
