Everywhere you turn at Reagan we have the opportunity to see students excel. Most recently we have ended our soccer season with two wonderful records. Our boysteam went to the Regional Tournament and our girlsteam competed at the State Tournament. Seeing these students in action was a treat to all. Their desire to compete and the way they were coached was an example of how Reagan delivers. Very soon, we will be testing over 1200 students at Reagan to measure their success in our Advanced Placement courses. The work that goes into the preparation of these classes is to be commended. Our testing coordinator for AP exams is Mrs. Michelle Tanner; she has put in countless hours to coordinate this effort. Behind the scenes we never cease to have a dull moment in preparing for the next event and or the next challenge. Thank you to Paula Hilken, our outgoing PTA president, for two years of service and dedication to the position of President. She did an outstanding job and I am very thankful she is going to continue with the board. I look forward to next year and embracing our new board; I will announce those names to all in the fall. The PTA is such an important part of what we do every day. Thank you for the time and talents you have shared with us throughout the year. We will have our End of Course testing in May and the students and teachers have worked hard this year. We appreciate the support we receive in seeing that their efforts are recognized through successful achievement on testing. The stress that often comes with testing is heartfelt by all and we try to create the best environment we can at Reagan. If you do not know, Mr. Noblett and Mrs. Peel are our two key coordinators during End of Course testing. Thank you for assuring that your students are present for Algebra testing on May 4, Biology on May 5, and US History on May 6. You play an important role in putting your child at ease as these days approach. Seniors are ready to move on and we appreciate the work of the senior class officers and sponsors as they have provided fun opportunities for this group. The project graduation efforts have been monumental this year. Thank you for caring about the students and giving them a place to go upon graduation. Please make sure you have read the senior letter and are aware of deadlines and events. I look forward to seeing all of you at graduation and celebrating with you the beginning of a new chapter for your children. Sincerely, Brenda Shelton, Principal

Dear Reagan Families:

The 2014-2015 school year is coming to a close and we have much to celebrate. Everywhere you turn at Reagan we have the

opportunity to see students excel. Most recently we have ended our soccer season with two wonderful records. Our boys’

team went to the Regional Tournament and our girls’ team competed at the State Tournament. Seeing these students in

action was a treat to all.

Behind the scenes we never cease to have a dull

moment in preparing for the next event and or the next challenge.

Thank you to Paula Hilken, our outgoing PTA president, for two years of service and dedication to the position of President.

She did an outstanding job and I am very thankful she is going to continue with the board. I look forward to next year and

embracing our new board; I will announce those names to all in the fall. The PTA is such an important part of what we do

every day. Thank you for the time and talents you have shared with us throughout the year.

We will have our End of Course testing in May and the students and teachers have worked hard this year. We appreciate the

support we receive in seeing that their efforts are recognized through successful achievement on testing. The stress that

often comes with testing is heartfelt by all and we try to create the best environment we can at Reagan. If you do not know,

Message from the President This is the final week of the school year and my last article as president of the Ronald Reagan HS PTA. It has

been an honor to serve this fabulous community for the past two years and I want to thank all the wonderful

volunteers I have had the privilege to work beside. Amy Fritz has been elected to serve as president for the

2015-2016 school year, and I know she will do an amazing job!

As we wrap up our last event of the school year, Project Graduation, I want to say congratulations to all the

graduates! I hope you have a blast at this party that the committee has worked so hard to provide for you.

Enjoy this time and know that Reagan High School has given you the tools to go out and do great things.

Wherever you are headed on this next journey remember...once a Rattler...always a Rattler!

Here is wishing you all a fun, relaxing and family filled summer.

The Virgil T. Blossom Scholarship for Reagan High School proudly announces Tatiana Corvalan as its 2015 Scholarship Recipient.

Each year the North East Council of PTA award scholarships to a recipient from each of the seven high schools in our district. The scholarship is intended for a graduating senior who plans to study education in college and the hope of the recipient to one day return to NEISD as a teacher or administrator in our schools. It was a hard decision for the scholarship committee, as all the candidates were well qualified, but it was Tatiana Corvalan's passion and eagerness of becoming a teacher, that led to her being awarded this scholarship. As a participate in the Ready Set Teach Program that confirmed her love of teaching, she is allowed to interact with students on daily basis, which has also instilled the importance of trust and care between a teacher and his/her students. Tatiana's older brother Luis also played a roll in her decision to become an educator. While playing soccer, Luis suffered a brain injury. Over the years, Tatiana has watched and help taught her brother how to live again. Tatiana states " The art of teaching is sacred. Whether it is to educate or rehabilitate, teaching is the medium that we use to help others permanently improve their quality of life and intellectual capacity". Congratulations Tatiana Corvalan, we wish you the best as you embark on another chapter of your life at The University of Texas at San Antonio.

REAGAN ORCHESTRAS TAKE SWEEPSTAKES

By Katherine Johnston

REAGAN ORCHESTRA SENIORS LOOK TO THE FUTURE

As the Reagan Orchestra prepares for its final concert of the year on Monday, May 18th in the Fine Arts Auditorium,

graduating senior members will be thinking of their plans for the future: summer vacation, work, packing and preparing

for their first year at college. These talented students have worked countless hours practicing their instruments,

rehearsing in and out of class to prepare for concerts and events such as the annual musical, participating in UIL

competitions, serving the community in artistic service over the past four years in various ways and mentoring younger

students entering the orchestra program at Reagan. They have been role models and an inspiration to elementary and

middle schoolers who have visited the campus. Fabulous seniors are Mark Aguilar, Alexandra Belgodere, Alicia Bell,

Breanna Bird, Abigail Bush, Adeline Capps, Adrian Casillas, Yingge Cheng, Alyssa Fernandez, Ellen Johnston, Robin

Kickirillo, Jennifer Lingsch, Sabrina Longoria, Gregory Millare, Camille Mojica, Sara Stechschulte, Audrey Tan and
