Senior Football League Valleys senior footballers got their Division 1 league
underway when they travelled to Ballincollig on a wet
and damp Sunday evening. Missing a number of senior
players this was always going to be a tough outing.
Ballincollig started brightly and playing a strong running
game led 1-3 to no score after 10 minutes. A point from
Kevin Canty got valleys on their way. Further points
from Fiachra Lynch and John Cottrell had valleys
training 2-8 to 0-5 at half time.
Ballincollig continued their running game in the second
half and got through for an early goal. Points from Eoin
Delaney, Fiachra Lynch and Pa Hurley had valleys on the
losing side on a final score of Ballincollig 3-13 to Valley
rovers 0-8.
Next up for valleys is a trip to Ballingeary next Sunday.
Team:
Cormac Desmond,
Noel O’Donovan, David Lynch, Aaron Lyons,

On Sunday 3rd Feb last the Rebel Og Benchmarking
Awards were presented to the clubs who were
successful in their Benchmarking in 2018. The
function took place in Pairc Ui Rinn & Juvenile club
coaching officer, Mick Guinane, was on hands to
accept the Gold award on behalf of the club.
Winners are divided in to 3 categories with the top
clubs receiving the “Gold” accolade and the silver and
bronze being awarded based on criteria set out at the
start of each year, with the overall aim being that all
clubs attain Benchmarking status by 2020.
