CGR has been successful in performing touch

grinding of the various gear elements. Touch grinding

only removes .005” from both tooth flanks and yields

a reconditioned gear which can be reused.

Note: this is not a new gear but one which can be

used to return the gearbox to service for a price

much less than replacing all of the gear elements

with new hardware.
