REBUILDING YENDA PUBLIC SCHOOL On Sunday 6th August, 2000, Yenda Public School was tragically destroyed by a fire. A great deal was lost on that day, not only the long standing school building, but also a great deal of school and teacher resources, students belongings and work samples. As well as the moral of each and every person associated with the school! Both the Yenda and Griffith community, as well as the many schools in the district and businesses were fantastic in their support. The community offered supplies, books, money and furniture to enable the school to continue running. The teachers were sensational in continuing to provide the students with quality education and support in such a terrible ordeal. The year 2002 proved to be a fruitful and rewarding year for Yenda Public school. The new school was well underway with the rebuild and much time, planning and sheer hard work went into the development of our beautiful new school. The proud staff and students spent their first day in the up to date and very modern new school on the 28th October 2002. Page 1 of 10 rebuild 1/09/2011 file://T:\rebuild.htm

REBUILDING YENDA PUBLIC

SCHOOL

On Sunday 6th August, 2000, Yenda Public School was tragically destroyed by a fire.
