After looking around multiple locations for where we should do each scene, we came to the conclusion that for the scene where Joe burns his work, we should use an open outdoor area. This area is located in a field near my housed, it was a good site for the burning scene as it was quiet and is the right sort of setting for the story. Since we chose this outdoor area it allowed us to use interesting shots and meant that we were able to have a fire in safe conditions and be able to film the shots without being disturbed. We then needed to choose where we wanted to film the maths scene, after looking at a couple of classrooms we decided to go for a small one.

These were examples of different classrooms that we initially thought we could use for filming the maths scene. We decided to look around at different classrooms because we were told that we would struggle to be able to film in an actual maths room. However we kept inquiring and eventually we managed to get an hours use of a maths room out of college hours that we could use to make the mise-en-scene look as realistic as possible. We also had to decide on a location for whereabouts we could film the main characters bedroom. After looking at Jacks and Daniels bedrooms we decided to use Jacks room due to the amount of space we would have. It allowed us to use interesting camera shots from a variety of angles and allowed us to set it up so that it looked neat and ordered. We were also able to create a good shot of Joe looking out the window down onto the road and the car parked on an angle.
