Reception for Pastor Joe and Merry Cookston Today, Sunday, June 29, In The Gathering Place Come and go all morning Pastor Joe and Merry came to serve Salem 17 years ago (in 1997). As they transition from Salem, we want to celebrate their ministry here. We are deeply indebted to them for the love and effective ministry that they have invested in the life of this congregation that will bear fruit for many years to come. Let us thank God for the legacy of these faithful servants of Christ! This Go Be Do Reach XL will include serving local organizations; Operation Rebirth, Gospel Mission, Caring Partners International and the City of Clayton. The Salem youth (7th-12th grade) will stay at the church for the week, and each morning head out to the community to serve with these organizations. What a great way to show we care about our community. In the evenings, students and leaders will gather for a time of worship and connection!

Pastor Joe and Merry Cookston

Today, Sunday, June 29, In The Gathering Place

Come and go all morning

Pastor Joe and Merry came to serve Salem 17 years ago (in 1997). As they transition from Salem, we want to celebrate their ministry here. We are deeply indebted to them for the love and effective ministry that they have invested in the life of this congregation that will bear fruit for many years to come. Let us thank God for the legacy of these faithful servants of Christ!

Circles Are Better Than Rows Most church gatherings happen in rows instead of circles. But Scripture tells us that isn't enough. We need to meet one another in face-to-face relationships. These face-to-face relationships will naturally change the quality of people's lives as they find themselves growing in relationship with Jesus Christ.

Interested in leading a Life Group? Believe it or not, we are actively gathering information for the fall Life Group schedule. Among the existing options, we would like to start some new groups, too. Don't miss-out on this special opportunity to gather a group of people who begin to DO life together. You will soon discover when we lead small what we do for a few will always have more potential than what we do for many!

If you are interested in leading a Life Group, contact Pastor Alisa Harkless at ext. 123 or [email protected] as soon as possible for information.

Baptism in the Pond Sunday, July 27, following 11 am worship Baptism is a declaration that a person's life, identity, and priorities are centered on Jesus and His mission. It represents a conscious choice and commitment to accept Christ (Acts 8:12 and Romans 10:9). Immersion in water symbolizes the death of an old life of sin and rising to a new life in the spirit of God (Romans 6:4). It is an outward sign of an inward work of grace and a symbol of membership in Christ's Church. If you are interested in Baptism in the Pond contact 937-836-6500 and ask to speak to one of the following people: Children: Kyle Hayes, Youth: Nathanael Lyon, Adults: Alisa Harkless.
