I have known Nipuna Indula Wanninayake as an student of the B.Eng (aerospace engineering) program at PEC University of Technology, India since 2011 August until the end of the degree. He studies the subjects of aircraft structures and space dynamics under me.Nipuna has been a hardworking and resilient student throughout his college life and despite of suffering some academic setbacks in his first few semesters, understandably due to being one of the few foreign students in college who had not being exposed to rigorous Indian college-prep curriculum, he exhibited extreme resilience in studies and showed a consistent improvement in academics over the 4 years. He secured a competitive internship with Sri Lankan airlines, a leading aviation company in South Asia, during his training semester and completed a excellent job, even earning recommendations for future career in that company. Nipuna completed a commendable capstone project on design of a light-weight fixed wing aircraft at his final semester under my supervision and it bore testimony for me of his mastery of aerospace engineering concepts at undergraduate level. I can testify for his undoubtedly high intellectual ability, his enthusiasm for knowledge in the field of aerospace and generally pleasant and good natured disposition. Overall I recommend him highly and without reservation for graduate studies in his field of choice.
