28 March 2016 To Whom It May Concern: I am writing you to recommend Lauren Davis for the Nexus B4T summer ministry opportunity. I can think of few women as capable and well-suited for a program such as yours. I have known Lauren as a student and a friend for two years and have personally seen incredible transformation in her life during this timeframe. She is making the best use of her college career, not only advancing academically but maturing and taking her various responsibilities very seriously. Unlike many of her peers, Lauren is working while in college and yet is near the top of her class while exercising her entrepreneurial passions and skills. Lauren exhibits an indefatigable work ethic and will go above and beyond in ministry and the job-place. She is also very teachable, recognizes the wisdom of others and has shown again and again to be an avid observer, listener, and learner. Perhaps her greatest strength is her unflappable faith commitment. Lauren is as uncomfortable with wishy-washy cultural expressions of faith as she is fervent in her personal walk with Christ. What you will find in Lauren is a deep-seated love for God and commitment to the gospel. In her growth she is also becoming more and more theologically astute by the day and can hold her own in biblical conversations. Lauren is also as genuine as they come, and I have found that she wears her heart and whole personhood on her sleeve. What you see is what you get from day one to day 1000. She is a solid believer who lives out the gospel and who has oriented her life, goals, passions and efforts around pushing the Kingdom of God into parts unknown. Lauren is also a people person. The word extravert does not begin to scratch the surface of how outgoing, caring and compassionate she is. She is not only active in being discipled herself but also in discipling others. Couple this with the fact that she is a natural born leader and it is easy to see just how much God has gifted her to be a mentor and disciple maker. Lauren is a remarkable young woman and will be a credit to your program. She is not using this opportunity to travel or scratch off a line on her bucket list, rather, using her education and background in business for the sake of the gospel is the full content of her life. I recommend Lauren with no reservations whatsoever. Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions.
