March 17, 2016 To Whom it may concern, I am writing concerning Diane Hunt, who is a teacher candidate, for the Fall of 2016. Diane worked with us for 8 months at the time she attended classes at CSUSM. She volunteered her time to Fortissimo, the first orchestra program in the San Marcos Unified School District. We meet at Joli Ann Leichtag Elementary School 3 days a week for two hours each day. Diane was there to help with the tuning of instruments at the beginning of class, to walk among the musicians and raise a chin, or place a bow in the correct position, and to sit and make music with them. She has a marvelous way of communicating with the kids that immediately gets their respect and love. They would do anything for her. With her presence, we were able to break into ensemble groups and work on specific skills. I believe she is largely responsible for the fabulous progress they have made in a very short time. Diane’s winning personality is contagious. I have been teaching a long time and I can spot a gifted teacher when I see one. Not only will she be great at any subject she teaches, by the way, she helped the Farr Avenue students raise a considerable amount of money as she took on their Science Fair Fundraiser, but she is a musician at heart. When you have these qualities in one lovely package—you are indeed fortunate. Any school who is lucky enough to offer her a position will declare one day—it’s the best decision we ever made! Please feel free to call me for further conversation or questions. Sincerely, Carole Beeson 858-‐922-‐7401 Fortissimo Program Director Kid’s College Founder/Board Member
