Patricia L. Swauger, 85, of Kent, died Satur-day, June 18, 2016 at UH Portage Medical Center.

She was born Decem-ber 11, 1930 in Kent, to Robert and Violet (Mul-len) Simpson. Pat loved life and enjoyed spending time with her family, dog Mabel and special friends Mary Ann and Glenna. She loved to garden and was a member of the Por-tage County Master Gar-deners and enjoyed her life on the lake.

She is survived by her sons, Rob (Karen) Swauger of Rootstown and Paul (Rebecca) Swauger of Kent; daugh-ters, Rebecca Proske of Kent, Elizabeth (Jack) Weiss of Loudon, TN and Carol (John) Dorscher of

Eagle River, AK; grand-children, Kelly (Mike) Wells, Haley and Emily Graser, Diana (Jerry) Proske-Turcotte, Matt (Mariana) Proske, Jes-sica (Shands) Plymale, Emily (Edward) Ickes, Jack (Kerri) Weiss, Les-lie (Blayne) Young, Clin-ton Hemmelgarn, Chel-sie (Brian) DeVore, Amy (Charlie) Redman and Jody (Mark) Armstrong; twenty great grandchil-dren; brothers, Robert and Stephen Simpson; sister, Judy (Richard) Morgan. She was pre-ceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Leonard Swauger; son, Kenneth Swauger; brothers, Nor-man, Jerry and Rob Roy Simpson; and son-in-law, Edward Proske.

Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Krepkovich 87 of Aurora died Thursday, June 16, 2016. She was born Octo-ber 4, 1928 in Dry Tavern, PA to Michael and Bar-bara (Strichko) Kovach. Elizabeth was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Aurora and retired from Aurora City Schools where she was a cook.

Survivors include her daughters Anita (Edward) Porter of Cuyahoga Falls, Michelle (the late Thomas) Runion of Mogadore and Lisa (Tim-othy) Bennett of Man-tua, son Edward (Beth) Krepkovich of Aurora, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She

was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Michael E. and son Rob-ert Krepkovich.

Calling hours will be from 5 - 8 PM Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Cha-pel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Aurora with Father James Daprile offi-ciating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua. Joanne Marie (Jordan) Krantz, age 82, passed from this life to the next peacefully at sunset sur-rounded by family on Saturday, June 18, 2016.

She was born in Akron, the daughter of Clem-ent and Jennie Jordan, the youngest of six and last surviving sibling. Joanne graduated from St. Mary’s High School and then worked at St. Thomas Hospital as a transcriptionist where she met and maintained friendships with co-workers until her passing. The city girl moved to Randolph in 1957 when she married her husband, Melvin L. Krantz, who she now joins in heaven along with her infant son, Martin.

Joanne was an active member of St. Joseph Parish where she worked for many years as a librar-ian for the parish school, and served on numer-ous committees through-out the years where she impacted many lives and organized numerous charitable events for the parish, school and Ran-dolph community. She was also a small business owner, Krantz Katering, and served over 1000 events. In addition to her volunteer work Joanne enjoyed cooking, attend-

ing events for her grand-children, playing bridge, cheering for all Cleveland sports teams and making Christmas special for her family and friends.

Joanne leaves to cher-ish and honor her mem-ory her children, Kath-leen (Deborah), Timothy (Karen), Kevin (Karen) and Colleen (Eric) Mor-gan; along with 11 grand-children, Scott (Ashlee) Metzger, Staff Sgt. Drew Metzger USAF, Justin, Kyle and Larissa Krantz, Ryan Rachel, Nathan and Lily Krantz, Christian (CJ) and Zachary Mor-gan; and one great grand-son, Wyatt Metzger.

Peter J. Angelo, 86, of Kent, passed away Sat-urday, June 18, 2016 at Kent Healthcare Center, after a lengthy illness.

He was born Octo-ber 29, 1929 in Canton to Thomas and Fran-cis (Rizzi) Angelo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Pete was a gradu-ate of Canton McKin-ley High School in 1948. Pete graduated from Kent State University in 1952 with his B.S. degree in Education, in 1959 with his Master’s in Trade and Industry, and in 1979 with his Educational Special-ist degree. He was instru-mental in developing the Vocational Club V.I.C.A. Pete was highly respected and admired by his peers and students alike. He had a great passion for his work. Pete retired as a teacher educator in Voca-tional Education at Kent State University in 1985.

Pete was most proud of his family whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Chi-onchio) Angelo, whom he married on June 28, 1952 at St Patrick Church in Kent; son, Steven (Gina) Angelo of Canfield; daughter, Jodi (Rick) Haught of Cuyahoga

Falls; grandsons, Nicho-las (Erin) Haught, Jona-than (Taylor) Haught, Christopher Angelo, Andrew (Jessica) Angelo, Benjamin Angelo; a great grandson, Graham Haught; and brother, Joseph Angelo of Massil-lon. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Boccuti, Elizabeth Gens-ley and Antoinette Nico-zini; brothers, Louis and Phillip Angelo.

With gratitude from the family to the many care-giving angels who so ten-derly cared for Pete at Kent Healthcare, with Active Life Care, Home Instead, and with Great Lakes Hospice. Your sup-port and gentleness are so appreciated by the family.

Patricia J. Harrison, 66, of Brimfield, died peace-fully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday June 21st.

She was born January 23, 1950, in New Castle, PA to Joseph W. and Lil-lian E. (Warso) Kwolek. She was an International Logistics Coordinator at Little Tikes and retired this past February. She was a member of St. Pat-rick Church for the last 39 years.

Patricia is survived by her husband, James E. Harrison, whom she mar-ried on August 29, 1970; daughter, Carin (Matt) Haas of Cuyahoga Falls; son, Patrick (Kelli) Har-

rison of Lebanon, TN; grandchildren, Parker and Delainey of Leba-non, TN, and Madi-son of Cuyahoga Falls; brothers, Thom Kwolek of Hermitage, PA and David Kwolek of Roch-ester Hills, MI; and sister, Bonny Kwolek of Pitts-burgh, PA. She was pre-ceded in death by her par-ents.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland says in a court filing that its rules for protests and march-es during the upcoming Re-publican National Convention are similar to those in other convention cities where fed-eral courts upheld challenges.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio sued the city in federal court last week on be-half of two groups that claim rules and restrictions on pro-tests within the event zone covering downtown Cleve-land would infringe on peo-ple’s free speech rights.

Cleveland responded Mon-day by saying rules that pro-hibit some items in the event zone and secure zones es-tablished by the U.S. Secret Service won’t infringe on freedom of expression. The secure zones include areas surrounding the convention arena and a media center.
