Knill; 2018-05-01 Recording PDF Narrations On a Mac Computer: 1. To determine which sound input is being used, first go to ‘System Preferences’ and select ‘Sound’ 2. Select the ‘Input’ tab at the top of the dialogue box a. Internal Microphone will automatically be selected if you don’t have an external microphone plugged in b. If you have an external microphone plugged in, make sure it is selected under ‘Input’ i. Adjust the Input Volume depending on the sensitivity of your microphone and talking volume 3. Open up GarageBand (can be found under ‘Applications’ in your Finder) 4. Select ‘Voice’ from the opening dialogue box a. If a previous file opens automatically, select ‘File’ à ‘New’ to get to the dialogue box 5. Press ‘Record” (the red circle at the top of the application window) a. GarageBand will begin recording input sounds from whichever source is selected in step 2 6. After completing the narration, press ‘Stop’ (white square at top of application window) 7. To play back through the narration, move the ‘Playhead thumb’ to where you would like to start listening from (see screenshot) 8. If there are sections that do not need to be included in the final version, they can be cut by clicking and dragging the edge of the sound bar (see screenshot)

1. Openthe‘VoiceMemos’application2. Press‘Record’
