Cat #E8269 (10x10817)Cat #8269 was a tiger male who was released to Gratiot County Animal Shelter by his

previous guardians on 4/20/10. The shelter subsequently gave the cat to R&R Research on

4/29/10. He was sold to U-M for $345.00 for use in the Survival Flight lab on 5/27/10. The cat

was generally healthy on 5/31. According to records, he was bright, alert, responsive and he

seemed to be maintaining a healthy diet and weight. He was used for the intubation laboratory

soon after arriving at U-M. On 6/1/10 he was killed.

Cat #8297 was a female white manx who arrived at R&R on 8/17/10 and was sold to U-M by

R&R on 11/4/10. On 11/5/10, it was noted that she had a possible upper respiratory infection.

She also apparently suffered from conjunctivitis and had broken teeth. She was used for the

intubation laboratory in November 2010. She was killed on 11/9/10.

Cat #E8312

Cat #8312 was a female Siamese who arrived at R&R on 3/8/11. In violation of the Animal

Welfare Act, this cat was given to R&R after being obtained from someone giving away free

kittens. The U.S. Department of Agriculture cited R&R for this violation of federal law. U-M

purchased this cat on 3/30/11. She was used for the intubation laboratory on 4/5/11 and adopted

soon after.
