Be concussion smart.Don’t learn about concussions the hard way.Your brain is the most important organ in your body, and it is yours for life. Protect your most valuable asset and wear a helmet when you are participating in various sports.

How to fit your helmet:• Every helmet should be CSA approved and be easily

adjustable. It should rest half an inch above the eyebrow.• The chin strap should fit snugly under the chin;

if more than one finger fits between the strap and the chin, the helmet is too loose.

It is recommended, especially for younger children, to have a face mask on your helmet. This will help prevent damage to teeth, chin and mouth, common injuries in skating.

For a proper fitting of your hockey helmets

speak with Roger at the Sportsplex 250.674.2143

REMEMBER:• These are kids.

• This is a game.

• The coaches are volunteers.

• The refs are human.

• This is not the Stanley Cup.

That ref is somebody’s kid, or somebody’s mom or dad —without refs, nobody plays.
