• Preparing a job description is not alegal requirement but it will help youto decide what type of person youare looking for and to write the job

advert.

• The person specification includethe essential and desirable

knowledge, experience and skills you would like the successfulapplicant to have.



Advertising the vacancy• Job vacancy advertising is the most

common way of recruiting in India.It is done through advertising inlocal & national newspapers ,television, radio, , internet, direct

mail etc.



Managing the response• After receiving an adequate numberof responses from job seekers, the

sieving process of the resumesbegins. This is a very essential stepof the recruitment selection process, because selecting the correctresumes that match the job profile,is very important.



Short-listing• The short-listing phase is all aboutfiltering job applications down to a

manageable number. Number offilters have been used like Paperscreening, telephone interviewing,ability testing etc.



Conducting interview anddecision making

• Shortlisted applicants are informedfor initial interviews which are either

face-to-face or by telephone,depending on the candidate'slocation. The initial interviewexamines the competencies and skillsrequired for the role, candidateshave applied for.



• Final selection events consists ofinterviews, presentations, role play or

analysis exercises and groupactivities, all measured against therequirements for the role.
