This year, we’ve transformed that experience into our most pioneering line of Collection Plans yet, and made our services more affordable than ever.

At RR, we realize that not all budgets are created equally. We offer a larger selection of Collection Plans and Schedules than any other company out there. That means more options and a better fit for your Community. From our pioneering Opt-In plan to our comprehensive All-In plan, we have a collection plan that fits your Community and its budget.

Save Money.

According to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Texans throw away an average of 7 pounds of waste per day. With recyclables constituting such a large percentage of the waste stream (most statistics place them at 50% or more), starting a recycling program is a great way to reduce your Community’s waste bill. Best part: the more successful your recycling program, the lower your Community’s waste bill.

The first program of it’s kind, our Opt-In plan provides Communities with a collection plan that is both convenient for Tenants and financially self-sustaining. The voluntary nature of this plan (in which Participants “opt in” and pay a set monthly fee) means that only those Tenants wanting to recycle are held financially accountable. The result is a cleaner recyclables stream and an oppor-tunity for Communities to reduce current waste costs without incurring any new costs.

Bottom Line: The perfect solution for Apartments that want to offer their Tenants a recycling service (and save on waste costs), but are not quite ready to implement a Universal Recycling Program.


How It Works

Getting Started

1. Community designates a Collection Area(s)

2. Tenants sign up for (or “opt into”) the Program*

3. RR Representative delivers bags/stickers for the following month based on the number of Tenants who have opted in (“Participants”)

4. Community distributes bags/stickers to Participants*

5. Participants mark intended recycling bags with designated stickers

6. Participants (or custodial staff) place bags in designated Collection Area(s)

7. On designated Collection Day, RR personnel collects all appropriately-marked bags from Collection Area(s)

Billing

8. Community billed at the beginning of the month based on the number of Participants during the previous month.

Ideal Candidates

Due to its voluntary nature, our “Opt In” Plan is available to Communities of all sizes and occupancies. However, it provides a particularly great fit for:

1. Communities that want to offer recycling to their tenants, but are unable to commit to a Universal Plan due to budgetary restrictions; and/or

2. Communities that would like to gauge Tenants’ interest in recycling prior to implementing a Universal Plan

* At this time, Communities may also choose to pass along further information about the program, including our Welcome-to-Recycling Packet, collection schedule, etc.

RR’s “All-In” plan offers your Community the most convenient, comprehensive, and effective multi-tenant recycling program in North Texas. Tenants are provided with the opportunity to recycle within their own homes, making the recycling process as easy as possible and ensuring the highest possible level of participation. Simply desig-nate a Collection Area(s) for your Tenants or Custodians to deposit bags on Collection Day, and our personnel will collect them on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule.

Bottom Line: The most convenient and effective multi-tenant recycling program in North Texas, our “All In” plan is a natural progression from the “Opt-In” plan and a golden opportunity to save big on current waste costs.

A Cleaner Stream

Our “Opt-In” and “All-In” plans allow Tenants to bag their recyclables inside their homes, resulting in a recyclables “stream” that is significantly cleaner of contaminants than that of other multi-tenant collection programs (which generally expose collection units to the Community at large). A cleaner recyclables stream means a higher True Rate of Recycling—and a more positive environmental impact. And, isn’t that why we recycle in the first place?

Transitioning from an Opt-In to our All-In

While Communities may switch/upgrade from one of our plans to another at any time, the switch from an “Opt-In” plan to our “All-In” plan makes a particularly natural transition. Part of RR’s revolutionary new line of collection plans for multi-tenant Commu-nities, our “Roll-out Containers” plan offers a versatile, hygienic, and aesthetically-pleasing alternative to traditional dumpsters. Named for the colorful and clearly-marked 95-gallon containers that serve as the collection units, this plan marks RR’s signature service. Old (full) containers are regularly replaced with new (empty) ones, ensuring that all containers on site look and smell as clean as possible. Weather-resistant and easy to wheel around, these containers work especially well for Communities with challenging layouts, multiple floors, and/or high-traffic common areas, as well as those that prefer valet style collection service.

Bottom Line: An ideal Plan for Communities with unique layouts and multiple floors, as well as those that prefer Valet collection service.

* Minimum varies per Establishment. Ask your RR Representative for information regarding your Community’s Minimum. Containers are Single Stream unless otherwise specified or mandated by RR. Due to potentially high levels of contamination, our Single Stream option in this Plan requires educational orientations and careful monitoring. Please ask your RR Representative for information about our separate streams. Due to the larger dimensions of the product, RR recommends that Communities use our .75-yd³ roll-out containers to accommodate Cardboard streams.

Our “95s” Plan is available to Communities of all shapes and sizes. However, it provides a particularly ideal solution for:

1. Communities with challenging or restrictive layouts;

2. Communities with multiple floors;

Operational Minimums In order to make recycling available to multi-tenant Communities of all sizes and budgetary dispositions, RR has established a Minimum Operating Fee per Establishment per Pick-up (“Minimum”).

Minimums ensure RR that all operating costs have been met when servicing a given establishment, and are determined on an individual (case-by-case) basis. The primary factor used in determining the Minimum for a given establishment is location.

Sample Minimums for Various Establishments

Operating Without Reaching the Desired Number of Participants It is important to note that Communities do not need to meet the Desired Number of Participants in order to operate our “Opt In” plan. Obtaining the Desired Number of Participants simply ensures Communities that the program is financially sustainable. The only requirement that must be met in order to operate the “Opt In” plan is the Minimum.

If your Community lacks the Desired Number of Participants, but would like to begin and/or continue operating the “Opt In” plan, it may elect to cover the portion of the Minimum not covered by Participants. Alternatively, your Community may elect to temporarily move to a bi-weekly schedule.

Remember, recycling habits tend to snowball, given time! Once non-participants begin to take notice in your new program, they will take interest!
