The moving fl oors are widely used in the wood panel

industry for storing loose materials such as chips,

sawdust, bark and recycled wood. They are very fl exible

systems, easy to implement, that can guarantee good

dosing performances due to discharge screws driven

by frequency converters. The feeding can be carried

out through mechanical conveying systems or directly

by truck. The material is moved toward the discharge

hopper by means of a set of sliding frames located on the

bottom of the silo and controlled via hydraulic pistons.

The extraction is carried out through the alternate

sliding movement of the frames. The hydraulic unit

is equipped with several control and safety systems

against overpressure. The discharge hopper is provided

with a dosing screw, driven by a frequency converter.

The automatic fi lling of the dosing screw is controlled

through a set of level sensors. The material level in the

storage silo is controlled by means of level sensor (radar).

The silo dimensions vary according to the required

volume, however the following design criteria have to

be applied: Sliding frame width = 1.500 mm (silo width

= multiples of 1.500 mm) / Minimum number of frames

placed side by side = 3 pieces (to ensure a constant and

regular extraction) / Average throughput of each single

sliding frame = max. 50 m³/h.

The hydraulic extractors are usually installed whenever

the process requires more than one discharge outlet, as

it is possible to install several metering screws on the

bottom of the silo. The system consists of a heavy frame

fastened to the bottom of the silo, driven by hydraulic

cylinders. A slider with elliptical shape, moving back and

forth within limited strokes, conveys the material into the

opening in the bottom of the silo. The metering screws,

designed with variable pitch, extract and discharge the

material out of the silo. The extraction of the material

is carried out across the entire circular surface of the

silo. This system can be used for wet and dried material,

chips, sawdust, particles and wood dust. This solution

ensures very low maintenance and low power demand.

Our systems are provided with the following equipment:

Fire-fighting system (water spraying) / Over-pressure

hatches / Radar control for a continuous monitoring of

the material level in the silo and emergency level switches

/ Anti-bridging elements.

This storage unit is equipped with a rotating turret installed

on the bottom and in the middle of the silo. One or two

metering screws, fastened to the central turret and driven

by the turret itself, provide for the material discharge. The

drive frame is fastened to the bottom of the silo and is

driven via hydraulic cylinders. For larger silos the unit is

provided with supporting stiffening beams. Drive units and

bearing housings are installed externally. Extraction across

the entire circular surface of the silo / To be used for wet

and dry material, chips and flakes / Strongly recommended

for wet flakes (dryer feeding), SL and CL particles / The

material is not de-mixed / No maintenance required

Circular silo extractors type EXP are usually applied to

extract wooden particles such as: dust, shavings, chips,

rejects and pellets. These machines are the synthesis of

many solutions directed to obtain the highest productiv-

ity / High extraction capacity with lowest installed power

/ Constant and regular extraction, also with fibrous and

hard materials without demixing of extracted flows / Ab-

turret

it is a cylindrical frame that supports the extracting shaft

inside the silo. The turret contains the gear motor dedi-

cated to the aforesaid shaft rotation and is connected to

the silo bottom through a big diameter footstep bear-

ing. Upper side of the turret a cover

fixed through a footstep bearing avoid to

transmitting to the rest of the machine

ret is realized by two identical torque gear

motors, each group transmits the rota-

tion through a pinion directly connected

with the turret footstep bearing.

extracting shaft

the cantilever extracting shaft consist of

a conical pipe with variable pitch spirals; it is supported

only from one side by a heavy bearing installed inside the

turret. External spirals sides are equipped with crumb-

ing teeth highly wear and tear-proof. The extracting shaft

motorization it is an hydraulic motorization, installed out

of the machine, that, through a pump drives the gear

motor fixed inside the turret. The close circuit hydraulic

transmission does not need the installation of any motor

control inverter and permits to have a high torque even

with low working speed.
