Al’s Words Hi all, I hope you are all well, it's coming Land Rover weather, a bit of frost and snow makes you appreciate four wheel drive. We had a good trial at Brierfield, it's a lot better now that we are the only ones using the land over the weekend. The next big event is our Christmas club night, I believe Father Christmas will be there, a brass band, raffle, buffet, mince pies, and selection box's for the younger children, so get out your Christmas jumpers and hats, don't forget your payments for the club bash in January see you all soon.

Green Lane Section Route Cards

The club shop has Green Lane route cards for Sale

These are £5 per set They cover the Lake District and there

are two classes, one Moderate and one a little more Severe

where scratches may occur and more experience may be

required.

Each set consists of 4 cards each card can be driven easily in

a day.

So why not grab yourself a set and get a group together and

go explore.

All you require is an O/S map of the Lakes or Memory Map

or similar, there are plenty of experienced people to help

direct you and plan your route at Club Night.

Green Lane Run CLUB GREEN ROAD RUN – 7th JANUARY 2018

The twenty-eighth annual club green road run will take place on the 7th

January 2018 and visit our traditional driving area of south Cumbria. Since

there have been marked changes to the management of many of the more

demanding lanes, under the Hierarchy of Trail Routes initiative and the NERC

Act legislation, around twenty routes are now unavailable and others have

become one-way making the development of continuous itineraries difficult.

There has been a marked lack of management over the last few years

combined with marked storm damage, which has resulted in more challenging

driving with more need for localised marshalling. It is therefore possible that

some scratching of paintwork may occur, particularly with larger vehicles.

Roof-racks can be susceptible to catching on low branches. I need to know

vehicle types to create sensible groups that will not be varied except in

exceptional circumstances.

The rendezvous for the day will be M6 Burton (Kendal south) motorway

service area, which is just inside Cumbria 3 miles north of junction 35

Carnforth. The time for arrival is 9.30 am to get groups assembled and set off

by 10.00am. For everyone, bring recovery equipment, maps, mobile phone,

CB, food and drink, warm/waterproof clothes for the day, this is a family fun

day.

All groups will be a maximum of four vehicles including the leader. If you have

maps and a navigator please volunteer to lead since any shortfall in leaders

will result in groups not going. All drivers must be members of RRLRC. I will

send itineraries with map references of lanes to group leaders a week or so

before the run.

We will continue to keep this event free of charge, but will be asking for

Web News Things are still on the up for the web team. We’ve been busy behind the

scenes improving our online membership portal to make it a bit friendlier,

and to collect more valid information for us to process membership requests.

I’m afraid we still can’t do

associate or junior

memberships online. However,

Stats for our site are looking

really good. We’ve now signed

up 40 members for online

accounts, and we’re currently

working on an online clothing

store for RRLRC and WOR

PRESENTATION EVENING WITH DINNER DANCE

RENDEVOUS HOTEL, SKIPTON Saturday 20TH JANUARY 2018

The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Skipton and overlooks the Leeds Liverpool Canal. The hotel offers dining in the Baby Swan restaurant, which overlooks the canal and are leisure club facilities for residents to use which includes a gym, swimming pool, spa pool, sauna and steam room.
