Our association with Madurai TVS Community College is manned by LAKSHMI VIDYA
SANGHAM / Arogya Welfare Trust. The institute trains the youth who possess basic academic
qualification of 8th standard and above school drop out. etc.,
The trainees hail from rural and down trodden society. They were prone to all social evil
activities like smoking, drinking, drugs, etc., They are brought to one platform, and trained for
a year and provided vocational training in electrician, AC Mechanic, Office Assistants, Patients
Care Takers, etc.,
A recent study shows that, in India the school dropouts rate in the primary level is 6.93%,
upper primary is 8.59% and 24.68 % from the secondary level. Dropping out of school has
serious consequences for students and their families. Students who decided to drop out of
school face social stigma, fewer job opportunities, lower salaries and higher probability of
involvement with the criminal activities for survival.
Dropping out of school, impacts student's self esteem and psychological well-being, faced with
the reality that they lack skills and knowledge to fulfil their desires.
We at Redington Foundation teach these students, the life skills and value character which will
help them to get along with the people around them in the working environment. The skills
that we provide will support them along with the job skill that they are learning in TVS campus.
