Quest Food Exchange is British

Columbia’s largest not-for-profit food program of its kind:

· Over 22,000 clients per month receive access to quality foods at a greatly reduced cost.

· Our programs are deemed as essential in helping individuals transition out of poverty and towards self-sufficiency.

food items that are then redistributed

amongst Quest’s clientele.

with Quest in delivering access to our

KEY STATISTICS

Quest’s Accomplishments in 2013:

· $5.8 million in food donations were redistributed to those in need

· 600,000 pounds of food and waste were diverted away from landfills

· 264,000 individuals accessed our food programs

· 566 individuals participated in our helper training program

· 110 individuals received their foodsafe certification

· 113 clients participated in Quest’s Community Training Kitchen

Quest manages to do it all. Redirect food that might otherwise end up in the landfill to low income clients, and at very affordable prices. Healthy food recipes and classes are there to inspire. Produce that can't be used is composted (except for the apples and lettuce that is passed on to animal rescue). Plastic, paper and glass is recycled. It is wonderful to see a company that is committed to environmentally sound practices. All this and then the support given to volunteers, who can gain experience and confidence in a variety of skills. A great organization I'm happy to part of.
