Empowering Youth in Cambodia is a grassroots organization based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia working to improve the lives of young people and their families.

Our vision is to see youth empowered with skills and confidence to be leaders who actively develop themselves, their families and the community for positive change.

We accomplish this by operating four schools based in poor communities (“slums“) that also act as community centers. There, we provide services and programs for over 500 local youth and their families.

“Before, I had dropped out of school , because my family is

really poor and I cannot afford school . With support from

EYC I could start school again , and this makes me really

happy. My studies keep improving. Ignorance and unem-

ployment have gone out of my life . I now know about so-

cial issues and know clearly the way I am going to walk in

society. I am now a computer teacher for EYC at Lakeside

School and have learned many things as a student there,

especially related to computers. I wish all the donors and

leaders of EYC to be healthy, strong and lucky.”

“EYC has really helped me to develop my skills. I was given a scholar-

ship to study at private school which is the very good school and would

be too expensive for my family to send me there . As a result, I was

changed a lot, from a little girl that had nothing to become a woman

that knows a lot of new things. I am more confident as a good stu-

dent in the class, have good relationships with other people, sensitive

thinking, and the best for me is that I can speak well . Someday I want

to help my family and other kids who need help. I want to say ‘thanks’

to everyone that helps me and other people in this poor country, espe-

cially all the donors that help us from the darkness to see a beautiful

Earth from the day it started until today.”
