Now, the prism system that meets the challenge of today's electronicmeasuring instrumentsToday's electronic measuring instruments are capable of higher accuracy in angle and distance measurement thanever before. The Sokkia AP (Advanced Prism) Series improves the precision and convenience of the entire surveyingsystern to meet the challenge of the latest developments in total stations.
Horizontal and vertieal angle aeeuraeyAt close range work, when the center of the prism as sighted through thetelescope serves as the reference point for angle and distance measurement,accuracy depends on the precise alignment of the center of the total station,the prism center, and the plumbing & pivot point. Ideally, the plumbing &pivot point and the prism center should coincide to reduce error resultingfrom not perfectly pointing the prism at the total station.When the spacer is removed, the -40mm prism constant of the AP01 prisrnprovides this ideal reflecting point.Für cornparison, the plumbing & pivot point of a zero prism constant islocated far behind the prism center. With a 5°(5.6gon) error in pointing theprism, a typical margin of error in the field, the line-of-sight error is about3.7mm, yielding an angle error of as much as 7.6" (2.35mgon) at 100m.The AP01 prism provides consistency and irnproved accuracy for close-rangeangle measurement by eliminating the error inherent in not perfectly pointingthe prism.

Surveyorswho place higher priority on convenience and uniformity withother equipment or do not require the highest level of accuracycan still retain all the other advantages of the AP Series.
Double yoke mount,AP12Designed for use with arange pole, this double yokemount permits the mountingof other devices such as atarget pole and a plumbingpole to position the prismcloser to the ground mark forincreased accuracy. Thedouble yoke mount is fittedwith an integral circular vial.
Sighting collimatorsThe AP11 and AP13 mountsare fitted with sightingcollimators, and the AP31and AP32 mounts have pinhole sights to ensure thehighest degree of accuracyin pointing.
Non-tilting targets,AP11T and AP32TTilting single and tripie prismmounts for total stationapplications are designedwith targets that remain fixedin the vertical plane. Thisinnovation allows for muchhigher accuracy in themeasurement of horizontalangles when the target is notperfectly aimed at themeasuring instrument.
Triangular-shapedtripie clusters, AP31andAP32The tripie cluster designgives the surveyor maximumflexibility. It is provided witha fourth mounting hole in thecenter of the mount so that itmay be accurately used witha single prism as weil. Twotypes of tri pie mount areavailable-the APS31stationary type and theAPS32 tilting type.

Improved prism height adapters, AP41andAP44The AP41 contains an optical plummet and is designed tofit in standard tribrachs. Both AP41 and AP44 contain atubular vial. The tubular vial and optical plummet can berotated to ensure that the vial and optical plummet are inadjustment. The height of the AP41 and the AP44 can beadjusted so that the prism and the target height above the
tribrach is identical to the instru-ment's tilting axis height above itstri brach. The height settings aregraduated in 3mm steps fram230mm to 248mm fram the tribrachbottom. Both the AP41 and the AP44are capable of accommodating anySokkia total stations and theodolites.

CasesEach tri brach-type APS complete set is provided with adurable hard case. For complete single and tripie prismsets, a durable, orange-colored plastic case is provided,while the complete nine prism set includes a duralumincase.
In addition, a universal soft case, SC67, is also available asan option.The SC67 case can hold most components of the completeprism sets (except the target for the tripie prism, AP31T andAP32T; APS91 nine prism complete; APS151 fifteen prismcomplete; the long pole; and the tripod).
CPS11 P Compact Reflecting Prism
A prism tor difficultmeasuring situationsThe CPS 11P permits independentuse of the CP01 prism. For exam-pie, when the point to be measuredis directly on a wall or in a corner,the CP01 can be held by hand anddirectly placed at the requiredlccation.
Reading prism height issimple and directSimply slide the prism to the requiredheight and read the value on the rodscale at the upper edge of the prismmount. Divisions on the scale are setat 1cm intervals:
Clip arm is treelyadjustableThe prism can be quickly andprecisely set at the required heightusing the provided rod and rodtripod. Adjusting the clip armaliows the position of the rod to beeasily shifted to the right or left,back or forward until it is preciselyover the target point. Perpendicu-larity is maintained by referring tothe circular level as the rod isrnoved.Simply lower the clamp lever tosecure the rod in position.Clamp mechanism makes set-upquick and easy while maintainingthe perpendicularity of the rod overthe target poi nt.
