CH= Celebration Hymnal (Red) PH= Psalter Hymnal (Blue)
"Praise the Lord. I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart in
the company of the upright, in the congregation."
Psalm 111:1
WELCOME: This is the day the Lord has made. Let us
rejoice and be glad in it. To everyone worshipping with us on
this Lord’s Day, we extend a hearty welcome. May the Lord
richly bless us as we worship and fellowship together and may
His name be praised. Please join us for fellowship and
refreshments after our morning service.
Children aged 3-5 meet your teachers in the foyer during the
offering this morning for Children’s Church.
TODAY’S PASTORS AND MESSAGES
This Lord’s Day, our messages both focus on the
extravagant grace of God in Jesus Christ.
This morning, we visit the fourth of our “Reformation
Pillars,” Grace Alone. Have you ever been in a position
where you expect the worst and get the best? This is the
feeling of receiving grace, and it only scratches the surface of
the grace offered in a classic salvation text, Romans 3:21-26.
Next Sunday morning, we will celebrate the baptism of one
of our covenant children, and so this evening, it is fitting that
we examine God’s grace portrayed in baptism. Throughout
the Bible, God’s people have needed a cleansing from sin,
and the sprinkling of baptism portrays the sprinkling of
Christ’s blood, which is “A New Way to Clean.”
PRAYERS AND PRAISES
Next Sunday morning, Michael and Abby Buitenbos will be
presenting their baby daughter, Laney Carol, to receive the
sacrament of baptism, marking her as one of our covenant
children. Let us rejoice together in the gift of new life and
our commitment to make disciples of the next generation!
Viola Vander Tuin passed away this Thursday morning in
Mitchell. The funeral will be tomorrow, July 24, at 10:30 AM
here at Platte CRC. Please pray that in the coming weeks and
months, her family might be able to grieve as those who have
hope, and to cling to our Sovereign Father who upholds with
His strong right hand (Ps 63:8). [Care Group #3]
Marie Kok moved permanently to the Care Center this past
Thursday. Please pray for a reduction in her pain, and that she
adjusts well to her new setting.
Update from former pastor, Willie Gesch: Willie is doing
well. The double vision is gone. The main thing right now is some
light-headedness which is a circulation problem. Yes, he is definitely
on a blood thinner. We will be seeing one more doctor the end of the
month. We come and go as we did before, only with me doing the
driving. We treasure each day God gives us together and are thankful
for your continued prayers and concern. God has blessed us through
you and so many others. Love in Him, Kay – for Willie, too!
Are you willing to PRAY? Prayer Partners are still needed
for several participants of the Discipleship Training School
going on right now in Mozambique. Please pick up a prayer
partner picture from the west credenza in the Narthex.
