Conductor Checks: Initial preparation of the vehicle before starting.p p g

CNG filling- Receptacle flap

Receptacle cap

Check and ensure that the Receptacle cap is intact andCheck and ensure that the Receptacle cap is intact and functional.

Check pressure of CNG in high pressure gauge If the readings of gasCheck pressure of CNG in high pressure gauge. If the readings of gas pressure line after parking at night and before starting in the morning

are different, it indicates leakage

Check Pressure of Low pressure gauge. If it is in red zone, get the HPR checked.

Check battery electrolyte level , visible through transparent container . Ensure that battery cut off switch is in ON positionEnsure that battery cut off switch is in ON position.

Ensure safety key in the engine compartment at rear , is in ON y y g p ,position

Check lube oil level in Engine . top up if necessary. Rectify, if any lube oil leakage is there. Keep the engine compartment clean so that any leakage of coolant / oilgKeep the engine compartment clean so that any leakage of coolant / oil

can be easily visible.

MAXMIN

Check for oil level in the transparent power steering hydraulic oil reservoir. ItCheck for oil level in the transparent power steering hydraulic oil reservoir. It should not be less than MIN. level .

Ladder

Ensure that the ladder is stored in its place for checking the CNG cylinders provided at the roof top.

Service indicatorLocation of the air filter assy.

Check Service indicator fiited near the air filter . If red band appears, get the air filter cartridge replaced.

Ensure that all the access flaps at rear and side of the bus body are securely closed and locked

Ensure that all the inspection windows on the bus floor are closed and locked.

Fire Extinguishers:

Ensure that Safety item like fire extinguisher is stored properly in its place. .

Ramp operation

Ramp operation is to be done manually at specified halt zones

Wheel Chair Ramp

Ramp operation is to be done manually at specified halt zones for up-loading wheel chairs.

Emergency Exits:Two Emergency Exits are provided in the bus.

Emergency exit door is provided on the RH side for emergency exit.

Emergency Exit switches for Service Doors

The JK doors are provided with Emergency Exit switches both on Inside and Outside of the bus. Once the buttons are pressed the air pressure in the door system falls off. Now pull open the doors manually using the handles

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• CNG is highly inflammable. Keep all sources of ignition / spark / flame away from the vehicle .

• Close all the CNG cylinder valves, close 3 way valve and burn complete CNG present in the pipeline by starting the engine before removing any gas

• Also ensure that the battery cut off switch is inOFF position .

• Ensure that there is no passenger on board whilerefilling CNG in the vehicle .

• Ensure that all the CNG cylinder valves are openbefore filling of CNG in the vehicle.

• Do not fill CNG in the cylinder at more than 200 bars pressure .

• Ensure that the CNG high pressure gauge , low pressure gauge and dash board CNG indicator are properly functional.

f• While working on the engine , ensure that the safety keyprovided near the engine should be in OFF position

• Use Safety key during inspection of engineid l kicompartment to prevent accidental cranking

of the engine .

• Check the contents of the first aid box .

• Before towing a disabled vehicle, disconnect the driveline or pull out axle shafts or tow with rear wheels suspendedwith rear wheels suspended .

• Use wheel chair restraint mechanism to restrain wheel chair.Use wheel chair restrain mechanism to restrain wheel chairUse wheel chair restrain mechanism to restrain wheel chairand its occupant before starting the vehicle.

Emergency Guidelines

• Open both the pneumatic doors to evacuate passengers .Use emergency switch near the doors , to open if required .

External

• If required , open the emergency door andwindow for faster evacuation of the passengers .

Internal Switch

Switch

• Rotate the 3 way valve to theCLOSED position .

• Turn the battery cut off switch ‘OFF’ynear the battery .

• Use the fire extinguisher , if required .g , q

• Call the Fire Brigade , if necessary .

Actions to be taken by Driver /conductor during Emergency

If smoke or fire is observed in the bus take following actions. Stop the vehicle immediately by road side

2. Apply parking brakes

3. Operate Passenger doors with door switches and ask passengers to leave the bus

5. If doors are not operating with door switches then pull the air blocking valve and ask passengers to pull open the doors for exit

6. Go out and switch of battery cut off switchand ask passengers to leave the bus

4. Switch off the Battery Cut Off switch 7. Close CNG supply valve

8. Use fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire

Actions to be taken by Conductor / Passengers during Emergency

If smoke or fire is observed in the bus conductor/passenger should take following actions.

1. Locate the emergency exit switches near both front & rear passenger doors

2. Open the cover of the emergency exit switch

3 Press the red button

5. Insert the hand in the cover of the emergency door handle.

6. Pull the cover to break it

Actions to be taken by Conductor / Passengers during Emergency

If smoke or fire is observed in the bus conductor/passenger should take following actions.

1. Locate the emergency window handle on the right hand side second window

2. Pull the levers down

3 Push the window out from the middle section

5. Locate the fire extinguisher behind the last row of passenger seats.

6. Pull the cover of fire extinguisher.

7 Remove the fire extinguisher3. Push the window out from the middle section

4. Completely push the window to drop

7. Remove the fire extinguisher

8. Shake and operate to extinguish the fire

Actions to be taken from outside the bus

If smoke or fire is observed in the bus following action can be taken from outside:

1. Locate the emergency exit switches near both front & rear passenger doors

2. Break the cover of the emergency exit switch

5. Locate the handle of emergency door.

6. Break the glass with some object such as stone, brick etc.

3. Press the red button

4. Push open the Door7. Operate the handle

8. Pull the door to open

HOW TO EXTINGUISH FIRE?

PROCEDURES IN THE EVENT OF A FIREPROCEDURES IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE

1. If you discover a fire raise the alarm immediately. operate the nearest break glass call point

2. If you have been trained and feel that it is safe to do so, attempt to fight the fire i th i t id dusing the equipment provided.

3. Do not put yourself at any personal risk. If you find yourself using more than one extinguisher – leave.

4 If you are not capable of fighting a fire – leave4. If you are not capable of fighting a fire leave.5. If you cannot deal with the fire, evacuate immediately. 6. Ensure that no-one is left in your area and close any doors behind you7. Do not stop to collect personal belongings8. Play your part in the roll call so you are safely accounted for.

If your clothes catch firey

• Don't run around, you'll fan the flames and make them burn faster.• Lie down and roll around. It makes it harder for the fire to spread

and smothers the flamesand smothers the flames.• Smother the flames with a heavy material, like a coat, blanket or a

fire blanket.STOP! DROP! ROLL• STOP! DROP! ROLL
