As the new of Head of PE it gives me great pleasure to introduce the inaugural Regents’ Sports Academy for all our students on a Saturday morning.
Please see a brief overview of the Regents Sports Academy that will be offered to our students in Term 1.
Our clubs are run by professionals in our community or by our staff members. Our club programme provides opportunities for our children to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. They will discover and develop talents which build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect, and of course will have fun with their peers in the process.
If you are interested in your child participating in one or more Clubs then please complete the attached Regents’ Sports Academy Application Form and return (with bank pay-in slip) to Khun May in the Primary Office or Khun Daeng in the Secondary Office or Finance Office by Friday 5th September.

DATES
Regents‘ Sports Academy will all start on Saturday 13th September and conclude on Saturday 29th November.
Please note there will be no sports academy clubs during our October half term break. Therefore it will be a 10 week programme this term.
The dates are as follows:
13th, 20th, 27th September, 4th, 11th October, 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th November
PAYMENT
Parents must deposit the correct amount for the selected Club/s in one of the school’s bank accounts – please see details attached – before a child can be registered for a Club. All application forms must be accompanied by a bank pay-in slip. All payments must be made by FRIDAY 3rd September. Please note that if you join a club mid-term then you pay the remaining weeks at the stated price per hour. Also, there will be no refunds given due to your child being absent from the clubs.
CONFIRMATION
Parents will be issued with a confirmation email by myself by Monday 8th September.
TRANSPORT
Parents need to provide transport to and from the Regents Sports Academy for their child/ren.
The coffee shop will be open on a Saturday morning.
INTRODUCTION TO OUR COACHES
TENNIS – NICK MANNING
Fully qualified Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) Instructor, International Tennis Federation (ITF) world ranked coach and member of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).
Currently the Owner/Head Coach of Tennis Bangkok Academy, providing after school tennis classes for
hundreds of students at various international schools throughout Bangkok.
SWIM/RUN CLUB – BY ROSLYN MCCONNELL

GYMNASTICS – IVAN MELO
7 x Spanish Gymnastics Champion and taken part in the World and European Championships. Ivan is now a member of the PE staff at our school.
BADMINTON – DR. MARCIA YANAGI
Part of coaching team of “Play, Learn and Progress” which consists of professional coaches affiliated to the French, Brazilian and International Tennis Federation.
Marcia specializes in mini tennis, initiation and intermediate players, it also masters badminton, table tennis, Beach Tennis and multi sports activities .
JUDO – MARTIAL (RICKY) RYCKEMBUSCH
Responsible for the coaching team of “Play, Learn and Progress” which consists of professional coaches affiliated to the French, Brazilian and International Tennis Federation.
Ricky is a French Monitor State graduate in Tennis, Judo and multi-sports.
CHESS CLUB – BINITA SHAH
Founder and Director of the IWICA Chess School in Bangkok. This is the 1st chess school in Asia to be accredited by Thailand’s Ministry of Education and currently provide chess clubs to other leading International Schools in Bangkok.
