Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is a Central University which primarily deals with Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes for masses. It has a strong network of 67 Regional Centres and over 2800 Study Centres across the country to provide the helping nodes to the students. While IGNOU Regional Cetres cater the administrative requirements of the learners, the Study Centres give academic support to the learners. Normally, CPC conducts Campus Placement Drives and Recruitment Drives at the HQ/Regional Centres and at Company Premises respectively. Though the placement drives have been conducted at different RCs in the past, the space and manpower crunch at RCs has always been a major road block in the way. RCs are very supportive for the placement activities of CPC but certain things are beyond their control.
