INSPIRE:The Seven Choices to IgniteYour Radically Inspired Life

John O’LearyBestselling Author & Speaker

We live in a world where “accidental living”—mindlessly moving through routines, wasting countless hours on social media or complaining about what’s wrong in our jobs, families and society—has become the norm. John O’Leary reminds us that just because we got out of bed this morning does not mean that we are truly living. What would our day, impact and output look like if we lived a radically inspired life every single day? Living radically inspired means you learn from past mistakes, rise above challenges and thrive no matter the circumstances. John shares the critical truth that “inflection points”—moments in time that changes everything that follows—occur daily. John will help you realize it’s your choice how inflection points affect you. Your life has much less to do with what happens to you and much more to do with how you react to it. Are you ready to live on fire?

Expected to die, John O’Leary is now teaching others how to truly live. In 1987, John O’Leary was a curious nine-year-old boy. Playing with fire and gasoline, John created a massive explosion in his home and was burned on 100 percent of his body. He was given one percent chance to live. You’ll find John’s emotional story-telling, unexpected humor and authenticity truly transformational.

The Deeper Dive Sessions repeat in the afternoon, allowing you to experience a deeper dive with two of the three speakers. Each riveting speaker was chosen by the Joint Industry Summit Planning Committee as the most relevant and timely for your business.

This meeting has been three years in the making, and it’s the biggest event either organization has had in a while. This convention adds more value to attending from personal growth, business growth and industry growth perspectives.

I was blown away at the value of participating in the PTDA annual conference. As a distributor, there is no better way to meet manufacturers who can provide solutions for my customers. Also, the educational component is very worthwhile. I come away with ideas that I immediately implemented at my company.

The Joint MD-IDEX/Expo offers you the best opportunity to network and do business with more channel partners in just a few hours. Booth displays aid in your business discussions while pre-scheduled MD-IDEX appointments with senior management of distributors/suppliers ensures targeted one-on-one discussion time with the partners you are most interested in meeting with.

What’s the PTDA MD-IDEX?MD-IDEX, which is short for Manufacturer-Distributor Idea Exchange, is the signature formal fast-networking event held at the PTDA Industry Summit. Traditionally, MD-IDEX is an appointment-only event with tabletop-only product displays.

What’s the NIBA Expo? The Expo is NIBA’s traditional trade show which allows product demonstrations, booth backdrops and other marketing material displays.

What is the Joint MD-IDEX/Expo?In 2017, this event blends both the MD-IDEX style of appointment-only fast networking with the NIBA Expo style of traditional trade show displays. The room will be open to all attendees between the hours of 8:30 am-3:00 pm to browse through all exhibits. All pre-scheduled twenty-minute MD-IDEX appointments will be conducted in the morning hours between 8:30 am-12:00 pm.

What is the Joint MD-IDEX/Expo setup?Exhibitors will be assigned one 8’ by 15’ booth with two 6’ skirted tables, one to be used for appointments with distributors. The balance of the space is available for product/marketing displays.

How does it work? Both NIBA and PTDA qualified members may schedule appointments with members of either association using the designated online scheduling software during the allotted scheduling timeframe. Both NIBA and PTDA members are also allowed to have full product displays.

The Expo is a great platform to showcase new products and differentiate yourself from the industry.  We found that there were many people that didn’t understand our full fabrication capabilities and the expo really helped to inform our customers.  RPI gained a lot of value in exhibiting at the Convention Expo by showcasing the extent of our fabrication capabilities and newly developed products.

Booth ReservationsComplete the Joint MD-IDEX/Expo Booth Reservation Form and submit it along with payment in full to either NIBA or PTDA. Payment must be included before a booth will be assigned. All reservations are date and time stamped for the booth placement selection process.

Joint Everglades TourTHURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 289:00 AM – 12:00 PMPRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED: US$60The state-of-the-art airboats are your transportation on an hour-long, fully narrated journey through the Everglades. Glide across the "River of Grass" at top speeds and let the sights and sounds of alligators, snakes, wading birds and unique vegetation steal the show as you venture deep into the ecosystem. At the conclusion of the tour, you’ll return to the docks for an entertaining gator show featuring the Gator Boys Alligator Rescue. ICP Golf Outing at Fort Lauderdale Country ClubTHURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 289AM SHOTGUN START BUSES WILL LEAVE HOTEL AT 7:30 AMBreakfast will be grab-and-go at the hotel before boarding the bus and lunch will be served on the course.

Both courses at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club are of a traditional layout that will surely test the player of all abilities. Unlike most Florida golf courses, the Fort Lauderdale Country Club's trees, rolling hills and bunker configurations can mentally place the golfer in the northeastern United States. The North course boasts nearly 7,000 yards of challenging golf, while the South course is 200 yards shorter and plays more like a links course. Neither is considered harder nor easier than the other and presents different challenges to all golfers.

All proceeds from the ICP Golf Outing will benefit Industrial Careers Pathway® (ICP), whose operations are funded entirely by tax-deductible contributions from industry participants and program revenues. Both PTDA and NIBA are Alliance Partner associations of Industrial Careers Pathway. Industrial Careers Pathway (ICP) is industrial distribution’s investment in its future workforce. Its mission is to meet the need for a skilled industrial distribution workforce, today and tomorrow.

Contests on each course—longest drive, closest to the pin, straightest drive and longest putt—are included in your ICP Golf Outing registration fee as well as the cart fee, range balls, breakfast at the hotel, lunch and beverages on the course.

For golf outing sponsorship opportunities, visit NIBAPTDA.org for details and to download the Sponsorship Opportunities Form and Application.

Torque Drives, Inc.

As a small, independent distributor, this conference is the absolute best way to network with manufacturers and our peers. To have everyone together in a compact format has definitely benefitted our entire Torque Drives team. We learn, get inspired, network—all at a wonderful location and affordable cost. We usually send at least one person to all PTDA events. This year we are excited to meet and work with everyone from NIBA as well.
