REGISTRATION FEE & CANCELLATION POLICYThere is a $100 registration fee for physicians. For Allied Health Professionals the registration fee is $75.

If you must cancel your registration fee for this course, Vanderbilt Sport Concussion Center will refund your registration fee less $15 administrative fee: provided you notify us by May 3, 2013. No refunds will be made after that date. Exceptions will be made for justifiable emergencies. Registration may be transferred to another person.

In the event of cancellation or rescheduling of this program due to unforeseen circumstances, Vanderbilt University Medical Center will refund registration fees in full.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is not responsible for non-transferable, non-refundable airline tickets or hotel accommodations purchased in connection with attendance at this activity.

ACCREDITATION & CEU CREDITVanderbilt Sports Medicine is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for BOC Certified Athletic Trainers. This program has been approved for a maximum of 4.5 hours of Category A continuing education. LOCATIONThe program will be held in Vanderbilt Children’s Hospitals Tennessee Theatre. Parking will be adjacent to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in the South Garage located at 1504 24th Avenue South. Parking is free. You will enter Children’s Hospital on the 2nd floor and the Tennessee Theatre will be on your left after the pharmacy.

PURPOSEThis conference provides the most up to date information and hands on techniques for health care professionals to appropriately diagnose and manage the treatment of concussions in athletes.

EDUCATIONAL NEEDThe management of concussion by primary care physicians and other health professionals does not always follow accepted guidelines. Our intent is to bring them the most up to date Evidence Based Medical approach to the management of concussions in athletes as well as inform them of resources available to patients suffering complications.

LEARNING OBJECTIVESAfter participating in the didactic portion sessions of this conference, the participant should be able to describe and discuss:

1. the current Concussion in Sport Group guidelines and standard of care for concussion management

2. advanced imaging methods used for concussion management

3. rehabilitation techniques and protocols involving return to play and complex patients

4. preventative methods and school intervention programs designed to assist athletes with returning to the classroom
