2007 TEAM RANKINGS

The Colts lead the regular-season series, 15-10. Taking the lead mid-way through the opening period and never trailing in a contest that wasnot decided until the final seconds, the Colts topped Tennessee, 22-20, onSeptember 16 in Nashville. Indianapolis posted a 6-0 first-quarter leadand grew the margin to 19-6 in the second half before a final defensivestand as the clock expired spelled victory. QB-Peyton Manning (28-42-312, 1 TD/int.) directed the club to 381 net yards behind a trio of receiversand a productive running game. WRs-Marvin Harrison (6-87) andReggie Wayne (5-70) and TE-Dallas Clark (7-69, 1 TD; 22t) had soliddays, along with RB-Joseph Addai (20-81, 1 TD; 8t). The Indianapolisdefense produced three sacks and two takeaways, led by DB-Bob Sanders(2.5 sacks). QB-Vince Young was 17-27-184, 1 TD, and a Colts defensemissing two starting linebackers kept the Colts in the lead. K-AdamVinatieri booted three field goals. The teams split the series last year,with each club winning at home. Indianapolis triumphed on October 8,14-13, and the Titans posted a 20-17 last-minute win on December 3. Inthe second meeting of 2006, dropping a contest with a 14+-point lead forthe first time in more than five years, the Colts fell at Tennessee. K-RobBironas booted a 60-yard field goal with :07 remaining to produce thecomeback win. Indianapolis assumed a 14-0 first half lead behind a 68tpass from Manning (21-28-351, 1 TD/2 ints.) to Harrison (7-172, 1 TD)and a 2t rush by RB-Dominic Rhodes. Tennessee trimmed 10 points offthe lead in the last two minutes of the first half, then took a 17-14 lead inthe fourth quarter. After Indianapolis tied the contest at 17-17 in the finalthree minutes, Tennessee drove to the Colts' 42, where Bironas convertedin the waning seconds. Tennessee rushed for 219 yards and controlled thesecond half. The loss snapped a 12-game divisional winning streak by theColts. In last year's initial battle, using a fourth-quarter comeback for thesecond consecutive week, the Colts notched a 14-13 win. The Titansscored the game's first 10 points and held the lead until 5:10 remained ina hard-fought battle. Manning (20-31-166, 2 TDs/1 int.) hit two second-half touchdown passes to provide the winning scores. Manning teamedwith Harrison (3-29, 1 TD; 13t) on the first toss, then hit Wayne (3-24, 1TD; 2t) for the deciding score. Tennessee rushed 31-214, including 19-123 by RB-Travis Henry. Indianapolis countered with Rhodes (20-84)and RB-Joseph Addai (13-62), while the Colts defense halted two finalTennessee possessions. The Colts swept Tennessee in 2005, winning 31-10 in Nashville on October 2 and 35-3 in the RCA Dome on December 4.In the second meeting, Indianapolis scored midway through the first quar-ter and led the entire way. Harrison was 4-61, 1 TD receiving to surpass12,000 receiving yards, while he stretched his streak to seven consecutiveseasons with 10+ touchdown receptions, the only NFL player to do so.

Manning (13-17-187, 3 TDs) extended his NFL record with 25+ touch-down passes in an eighth consecutive season. The Colts became only the5th NFL team to open a season 12-0. Tony Dungy became the 6th headcoach to earn 100 regular-season victories in 10 seasons (113, GeorgeSeifert; 105, Don Shula; 103, John Madden; 101, Joe Gibbs; 101, MikeDitka). In 2005's first meeting, Manning (20-27-264, 4 TDs), Harrison(9-109, 2 TDs), RB-Edgerrin James (21-90 rushing/2-12, 1 TD receiving)and a Colts defense that kept Tennessee out of the end zone until thegame's final five minutes starred. Manning teamed with Harrison on 11tand 24t scoring passes to tie QB-Steve Young and WR-Jerry Rice (85) asthe NFL's career leading TD tandem. The Colts swept Tennessee in 2004.Indianapolis won 31-17 in Nashville on September 19, then took a 51-24decision at home on December 5. Indianapolis took both meetings in2003. The Colts won at home on September 14, 33-7, then posted a 29-27 win in Nashville on December 7. The sweep by the Colts reversedTennessee's sweep in 2002. The Titans won in Indianapolis, 23-15, andheld service at home, 27-17. Dungy entered the coachingranks in 1980 at his alma mater, Minnesota, where he was a quarterback(1973-76). JEFF FISHER became the 15th head coach in franchise history onJanuary 5, 1995. Fisher was elevated to head coach-defensive coordinatoron November 14, 1994 and guided the 1-9 squad through the final sixgames of the season. His 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003 teams made the play-offs.
