Overview

This toolkit includes: key messages, video and visual assets for you to post on social media along with suggested language for social media posts, and links to Bill Gates’ keynote Expo address and the foundation’s Expo press release and exhibit guide.

Key Dates for Posting

We hope you will join us in posting content from this toolkit November 6–8, during the Reinvented Toilet Expo.

It is also well-suited for World Toilet Day, on November 19, and can even be used beyond these dates, as much as is helpful for your channels.

The Problem

– Today, about 4.5 billion people—more than half the world’s population—use sanitation facilities and services that are not safely managed. Even when these people use a toilet or pit latrine, more than percent (57%) of their waste is not contained, transported, or treated in a way that safely contains harmful pathogens.1

The Technology

– New off-grid toilets and human waste treatment systems are on the cusp of transforming sanitation. Adoption of new products, including the reinvented toilet and the omni-processor, can provide people and cities with life-changing options that will mean more flexibility, safety, and convenience.

The world’s biggest business opportunities come from addressing its biggest challenges

– The reinvented toilet market alone is estimated conservatively to be a $6 billion global annual revenue opportunity by 2030. It could help open the door to an even larger sanitation sector and value chain supported by private and public investments in products, jobs and services.
