Release Note – Exam ModuleTM 2.1 3DHISTECH is proud to announce
the Exam ModuleTM 2.1 Release. The role of the Exam ModuleTM is to
provide a flexible and efficient examination solution with using
the power of whole-slide images. Exam ModuleTM is part of the
comprehensive eSchool education package by 3DHISTECH, together
with
• CaseCenterTM ensuring optimal user management and
digital slide storage
• CaseViewerTM and InstantViewerTM providing advanced slide
viewing functions • PathoNetTM, a free public portal for sharing
digital slides
The Exam ModuleTM 2.1 release is effective from May 25,
2020.
Key New Features
• Possibility to log in with CaseCenter ID: Login with
CaseCenter username and
password can be set by the Administrator on the Settings
page
• The images attached to the exam can be enlarged
• The order of the exam topics can be changed (the pre-set order
is displayed for
each list)
• Support for multi-language examination sheets: Exam ModuleTM
supports multi-
language instruction environments – this way, each exam can be
set up in several
languages

• Examinations in progress are saved automatically – the exam
can be continued
based on the last save after a new login (if the allocated time
has not lapsed)
• Functions of the exam period:
o The exam interval can be specified
o An exam countdown that indicates the remaining time to the
examinees
o Automatic submission of the exam after the expiration of the
exam period
• The accessibility of examination results to examinees can be
set individually by
each exam
• Viewing of examination results by students:
o After the exam is submitted, Exam ModuleTM displays the
automatic
assessment (exam code, candidate ID, name) for the student
o The student gets a message about the success of submitting the
exam
o An URL is provided to view the exam result
• Examinations are displayed in the exam list
• A search function (a simple or complex search) has been added
to facilitate
search between exams
• Exam results can now be exported to CSV
• All evaluated exam sheets for the selected exam can be
downloaded in PDF
(compressed to ZIP format)
Other Changes
• An option to make the language of exam questions active and
inactive has been
added
• A question can only be assigned to one topic
• In the case of Romanian language, surnames and first names are
used in the
correct order
Technical changes
• The runtime environment has been upgraded to PHP version
7.0.26 (from 5.6.30)
for continued stability and security
• The database (PostgreSQL) has been upgraded to PostgreSQL 10.5
(from 9.5.6)
for continued stability and security
