Dear Friends,

The number of Americans caring for older adults is staggering and on the rise. In fact, the Pew Research Center reports that nearly half (47 percent) of U.S. adults say they likely will be responsible for caring for an aging parent or another elderly family member at some point in their lives.

Could this be you or someone in your family? Many may find themselves in the role of caregiver to an older adult suddenly and unexpectedly. All it takes is one telephone call that your mother has fallen or your father can no longer drive to the store for his groceries. Or perhaps it’s your grandmother who is losing her memory and is no longer safe at home.

At Home Instead Senior Care, we help tens of thousands of families fulfill the care obligations they feel are so important. In fact, my own family faced the challenges of looking after my grandmother when she began to need help in her 80s. My large family chipped in to assist. Through that experience, we learned the value of personalized care and Grandma lived to see her 100th birthday.

It’s on that foundation that my wife, Lori, and I founded Home Instead Senior Care in 1994. The Home Instead network now includes more than 1,000 franchise offices worldwide that provide the same personal one-on-one care that made such a difference in our own family.

Our CAREGivers provide that extra assistance that can help keep seniors independent longer such as companionship, personal care, medication reminders, meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, incidental transportation and shopping.

We also are proud to serve as a resource for families, providing a wealth of information on topics of interest to family caregivers such as nutrition, senior safety and Alzheimer’s care.

This Reliable Resources document offers you more information about the many programs that are designed to help you provide better care and support for your family member.

The mission of Home Instead Senior Care is “Enhancing the Lives of Aging Adults and Their Families.” We stand ready to put that mission into action in the lives of those you hold dear.

Best Regards,
