Žáci dovedou rozeznávat nejznámější stavby a místa ve Washingtonu D.C.

• The first capital of the USA was
Philadelphia.
• Washington D.C. was built at the end of
the 18th century and the capital moved
there in 1800.
• It was named in the honour of G.
Washington, the first American president.
Architecture
• A French architect Pierre Charles L’Enfant
created a design of the city based on
Versailles.
• Most buildings are in the neoclassical
style, avenues are tree-lined.
• Most main government buildings,
monuments and museums stand around
the Mall area (a large, open space).
