Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome to Week 7!

Once again, this term is going by fast and before you know it we will be into the final term of the year. With this, it’s a

great time for our students in Year 5 to begin thinking about their leadership journey. We have lots of great

opportunities for students to take on official leadership roles, which helps develop students’ capacity to work as a team,

take on additional responsibilities and develop leadership skills that will serve them well for life.

Cross Country: Last Wednesday, Clarence Town Public School conducted their school Cross Country event, we had

participants right from Kinder to Year 6. We made sure we followed all the health guidelines and created an interesting

and challenging course for our students on the site of our beautiful school. I was personally impressed by the

sportsmanship on display, as well as the efforts shown by our students striving to achieve their personal best. Our

students had loads of fun participating – our K/1 students completed a ‘fun run’, while 8/9/10 years did a 2000m course

and 11/12-year-old students completed a 3000m course. There were plenty of smiles and tired legs by the end of the

event! A big congrats to Mr Kemp for his organisation of such a great event. Keep an eye on our Facebook page, for lots

of photos.

Kinder 2021: It was such a wonderful experience meeting with Rebecca, Director of Clarence Town Pre-School a few

weeks ago and hearing all about our super new Kinder students for next year. Our school is currently creating an

alternative orientation program to facilitate information sessions and transition, in light of restrictions. Please ensure

you contact the school to get all the relevant information for your child and their transition to CTPS. Please call on

4996 4156.

Father’s Day Raffle: This Friday we will be drawing our Fathers Day Raffle. We have loads of great prizes to be won, 10 in

fact. Can we remind students and families to make sure they have their tickets into the office on time to ensure they are

in the draw.

School Photos: This Wednesday, the 2nd of September we will be conducting our school photos, please ensure your

envelopes have been returned to the school office prior to Wednesday. Full school uniform is required, school shirts
