Don’t confuse the two! Rebuilt engines are usually done in a local shop and standards vary widely. Rebuilders do not have access to engineering prints or improvements and can only replace obviously worn or broken parts. Others are cleaned and simply reused. Diagnosing issues can be tricky. Not addressing the cause of failures leads to failure again and again.
