General Safety• This appliance is intended to be used in household and

similar applications such as:– farm houses; staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other

working environments;– by clients in hotels, motels, bed & breakfast and other

residential type environments.• Do not change the specification of this appliance.• The operating water pressure (minimum and maximum) must

be between 0.5 (0.05) / 8 (0.8) bar (MPa)• Obey the maximum number of 13 place settings.• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the

manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre or similarlyqualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• Put the cutlery in the cutlery basket with the sharp endspointing down or put them in the cutlery drawer in ahorizontal position with the sharp edges down.

• Do not leave the appliance with the open door unattended toavoid stepping accidentally onto it.

• Before any maintenance operation, deactivate the applianceand disconnect the mains plug from the socket.

Safety instructions

Installation

Warning! Only a qualifiedperson must install thisappliance.

• Remove all the packaging.• Do not install or use a damaged

appliance.• Do not install or use the appliance where

the temperature is less than 0 °C.• Follow the installation instructions

supplied with the appliance.• Always take care when moving the

appliance as it is heavy. Always usesafety gloves and enclosed footwear.

• Make sure that the appliance is installedbelow and adjacent to safe structures.

Electrical connection

Warning! Risk of fire and electricshock.

• The appliance must be earthed.• Make sure that the parameters on the

rating plate are compatible with theelectrical ratings of the mains powersupply.

• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage to themains plug and to the mains cable.Should the mains cable need to bereplaced, this must be carried out by ourAuthorised Service Centre.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of the installation.Make sure that there is access to themains plug after the installation.

• Do not pull the mains cable to disconnectthe appliance. Always pull the mainsplug.

• This appliance complies with the E.E.C.Directives.

• UK and Ireland only. This appliance isfitted with a 13 A mains plug. If it isnecessary to change the mains plug fuse,use only a 13 A ASTA (BS 1362) fuse.

Water connection• Do not cause damage to the water

hoses.• Before connection to new pipes, pipes

not used for a long time, where repairwork has been carried out or newdevices fitted (water meters, etc.), let thewater flow until it is clean and clear.

• Ensure that there are no visible waterleaks during and after the first use of theappliance.

• The water inlet hose has a safety valveand a sheath with an inner mains cable.

Warning! Dangerous voltage.• If the water inlet hose is damaged,

immediately close the water tap anddisconnect the mains plug from the mainssocket. Contact the Authorised ServiceCentre to replace the water inlet hose.

Settings

Programme selection mode and usermodeWhen the appliance is in programmeselection mode it is possible to set aprogramme and to enter the user mode.While in user mode, you can configure theappliance by changing the followingsettings:• The activation or deactivation of the

rinse aid empty notification.• Activation or deactivation of the acoustic

signal for the end of a programme.

As the appliance stores the savedsettings, there is no need to configure itbefore every cycle.

Settings accessibility is notavailable when the appliance isoperating.

How to set the programme selection modeThe appliance is in programme selectionmode when only the indicator of theprogramme is on.After activation, the appliance is inprogramme selection mode by default. Ifnot, set the programme selection mode thefollowing way:

Press and hold simultaneously and until the appliance is in programmeselection mode.

The rinse aid empty notificationThe rinse aid helps to dry the dishes withoutstreaks and stains.The rinse aid is automatically releasedduring the hot rinse phase.When rinse aid chamber is empty, the rinseaid indicator is turned on notifying to refillrinse aid. If the drying results aresatisfactory while using multi-tablets only, itis possible to deactivate the notification forrefilling rinse aid. However, for best dryingperformance, always use rinse aid.If standard detergent or multi-tabletswithout rinse aid are used, activate thenotification to keep the rinse aid refillindicator active.

How to deactivate the rinse aid emptynotificationPress the on/off button to switch theappliance on.The appliance must be in programmeselection mode.

1. To enter the user mode, press and holdsimultaneously and until theindicators , and start to flash.

2. Press .

• The indicators and go out.• The indicator continues to flash.• The indicator shows the current

setting: is on = the rinse aidempty notification is on.

3. Press to change the setting.• is off = the rinse aid empty

notification is off.4. Press the on/off button to confirm the

setting.The appliance is now off.

Acoustic signalsAcoustic signals sound when a malfunctionof the appliance occurs. It is not possible todeactivate these acoustic signals.There is also an acoustic signal that soundswhen the programme is complete. Thisacoustic signal is activated by default andyou can deactivate it.When you press the main switch to turn onthe dishwasher, it makes a short beepsound. The beep is activated by default andyou can deactivate it along with theacoustic signal for the end of a programme.

How to deactivate the acoustic signal forthe end of programmePress the on/off button to switch theappliance on.The appliance must be in programmeselection mode.

What to do if you want use detergentwhich doesn't contain rinse aidBefore you start to use detergent and rinseaid separately do the following procedure.1. Make sure that the rinse aid container is

full.2. Start the shortest programme with a

rinsing phase. Do not add detergentand do not load the baskets.

3. When the programme is completed,adjust the released quantity of rinse aid.

Setting and starting a programme

The Auto off functionThis function decreases energy consumptionby automatically deactivating theappliance when it is not operating.

The function comes into operation:• 5 minutes after the completion of the

programme.• After 5 minutes if the programme has not

started.

Starting a programme1. Keep the appliance door ajar.2. Press the on/off button to activate the

appliance. Make sure that theappliance is in programme selectionmode.

3. Press the button related to theprogramme you want to start.

The related programme indicator comes on.4. Close the appliance door to start the

programme.

Starting a programme with delay start1. Set a programme.2. Press repeatedly until the indicator

related to the number of hours you wantto set comes on (3, 6 or 9).

The delay indicator comes on.3. Close the appliance door to start the

countdown.While a countdown is running it ispossible to increase the delay time butnot to change the selection of theprogramme.

When the countdown is completed, theprogramme starts.

Opening the door while the applianceoperatesIf you open the door while a programme isrunning, the appliance stops. It may affectthe energy consumption and theprogramme duration. When you close thedoor, the appliance continues from thepoint of interruption.

Cancelling the delay start while thecountdown operatesWhen you cancel the delay start you haveto set the programme and options again.

Press and hold simultaneously and until the appliance is in programmeselection mode.

Press and hold simultaneously and until the appliance is in programmeselection mode.Make sure that there is detergent in thedetergent dispenser before you start a newprogramme.

End of the programmeWhen the programme is completed theindicator comes on. If you do notdeactivate the appliance within 5 minutes,all indicators go off to decrease the energyconsumption.1. To deactivate the appliance, press the

on/off button or wait for the Auto offfunction to automatically deactivate theappliance.

2. Close the water tap.

For the better drying results keepthe appliance door ajar for someminutes before you remove thedishes. Let the dishes cool downbefore you remove them from theappliance. Hot dishes are easilydamaged.

Hints and tips

GeneralThe following hints will ensure optimalcleaning and drying results in daily use andalso help to protect the environment.• Remove larger residues of food from the

dishes into the waste bin.• Do not pre-rinse dishes by hand. When

needed, use the prewash programme (ifavailable) or select a programme with aprewash phase.

• Always use the whole space of thebaskets.

• When loading the appliance, make surethat the dishes can be completelyreached and washed by the waterreleased from the spray arm nozzles.Make sure that items do not touch orcover each other.

• You can use dishwasher detergent andrinse aid separately or you can use themulti-tablets. Follow the instructionswritten on the packaging.

• Select the programme according to thetype of load and degree of soil. With theECO programme you have the mostefficient use of water and energyconsumption for crockery and cutlerywith normal soil.

Using rinse aid and detergent• Only use rinse aid and detergent for

dishwasher. Other products can causedamage to the appliance.

• The rinse aid helps, during the lastrinsing phase, to dry the dishes withoutstreaks and stains.

• Detergent tablets do not fully dissolvewith short programmes. To preventdetergent residues on the tableware, werecommend that you use the tablets withlong programmes.

• Do not use more than the correctquantity of detergent. Refer to theinstructions on the detergent packaging.

Loading the baskets

Refer to the supplied leaflet withexamples of the load of thebaskets.

• Only use the appliance to wash itemsthat are dishwasher-safe.

• Do not put in the appliance items madeof wood, horn, aluminium, pewter andcopper.

• Do not put in the appliance items thatcan absorb water (sponges, householdcloths).

• Remove remaining food from the items.• Soak items with remaining burned food

in water.• Put hollow items (cups, glasses and pans)

with the opening down.• Make sure that cutlery and dishes do not

bond together. Mix spoons with othercutlery.

• Make sure that glasses do not touchother glasses.

• Put small items in the cutlery basket.• Put light items in the upper basket. Make

sure that the items do not move.• Make sure that the spray arm can move

freely before you start a programme.

Before starting a programmeMake sure that:• The filters are clean and correctly

installed.• The spray arms are not clogged.• There is dishwasher rinse aid (unless you

use multi- tablets).• The position of the items in the baskets is

correct. Please see the basket loadingleaflet provided with this appliance.

• The programme is applicable to the typeof load and for the degree of soil.

• The correct quantity of detergent is used.

Unloading the baskets1. Let the tableware cool down before you

remove it from the appliance. Hot itemscan be easily damaged.

2. First remove items from the lowerbasket, then from the upper basket.

After the programme iscompleted, water can still remainon the inside surfaces of theappliance.

Care and cleaning

Warning! Before maintenance,deactivate the appliance anddisconnect the mains plug fromthe main socket.

Dirty filters and clogged sprayarms decrease the washingresults. Make a check regularlyand, if necessary, clean them.

Cleaning the spray armsDo not remove the spray arms. If the holesin the spray arms are clogged, removeremaining parts of soil with a thin pointedobject.

External cleaning• Clean the appliance with a moist soft

cloth.• Only use neutral detergents.• Do not use abrasive products, abrasive

cleaning pads or solvents.

Internal cleaning• Carefully clean the appliance, including

the rubber gasket of the door, with a softdamp cloth.

• If you regularly use short durationprogrammes, these can leave deposits ofgrease and limescale inside theappliance. To prevent this, werecommend to run long durationprogrammes at least 2 times per month.

• To maintain the performance of yourappliance at its best, we recommend touse monthly a specific cleaning productfor dishwashers. Follow carefully theinstructions on the packaging of theproduct.

Troubleshooting

If the appliance does not start or it stopsduring operation, before you contact anAuthorised Service Centre, check if you cansolve the problem by yourself with the helpof the information in the table.

With some problems the end indicatorflashes intermittently indicating amalfunction.

• Make sure that the water tap is not clogged.• Make sure that the filter in the inlet hose is not

clogged. Clean the filter.• Make sure that the inlet hose has no kinks or

bends.

The appliance does not drain the wa-ter.• The end indicator flashes 2 times

intermittently.• Acoustic signal sounds 2 times in-

termittently.

• Make sure that the sink spigot is not clogged.• Make sure that the drain hose has no kinks or

bends.

The anti-flood device is on.• The end indicator flashes 3 times

intermittently.• Acoustic signal sounds 3 times in-

termittently.• Drain pump runs continuously.

• Close the water tap and contact an AuthorisedService Centre.

Door cannot be closed. • Make sure that left and right rail of the upperbasket are positioned at the same height.

Once you have checked the appliance,deactivate and activate the appliance. Ifthe problem occurs again, contact anAuthorised Service Centre.

The washing and drying results are not satisfactory

Problem Possible cause and solutionPoor washing results. • Refer to "Daily use", "Hints and tips" and basket

loading leaflet.• Use more intensive washing programmes.• Clean spray arm jets and filter. Refer to "Care and

Cleaning".• Make sure the spray arms are in correct positions.

Poor drying results. • Tableware has been left for too long inside a closedappliance.

• There is no rinse aid or the dosage of rinse aid is notenough. Set the rinse aid dispenser to a higher level.

• Plastic items may need to be towel dried.• We recommend to always use rinse aid, even in com-

bination with multi-tablets.

There are whitish streaks orbluish layers on glasses anddishes.

• The release quantity of rinse aid is too much. Adjustthe rinse aid level to a lower level.

• The quantity of detergent is too much.

There are stains and dry wa-ter drops on glasses anddishes.

• The released quantity of rinse aid is not sufficient. Ad-just the rinse aid level to a higher level.

• The quality of the rinse aid can be the cause.

The dishes are wet. • The programme does not have a drying phase or hasa drying phase with low temperature.

• The rinse aid dispenser is empty.• The quality of the rinse aid can be the cause.• The quality of the multi-tablets can be the cause. Try a

different brand or activate the rinse aid dispenser anduse rinse aid and multi-tablets together.

• Keep the dishwasher door ajar for some time beforeremoving tableware.

The interior of the appliance iswet.

• This is not a defect of the appliance. it is caused by thehumidity in the air that condenses on the walls.

Unusual foam during washing. • Use the detergent for dishwashers only.• There is a leak in the rinse aid dispenser. Contact an

Authorised Service Centre.

Traces of rust on cutlery. • Silver and stainless steel cutlery were placed together.Avoid to put silver and stainless steel items close to-gether.
