COMPELLED CHRISTIAN CHURCH TO CELEBRATE BIRTHDAY

Compelled Christian Church located at 761 Hoosick Road in Troy (across from Walmart) will be celebrating its 3rd Birthday (sort of). Three years ago, on a Wednesday night in late October, the former Green Hills Alliance Church held its first Wednesday Night Compelled service & small group time. Since that time, the church has reorganized and refocused into Compelled Christian Church. We are a growing, vibrant community that is knit together and defined by the love of Jesus Christ. This year, that same date falls on a Sunday and we want to celebrate and say thanks to God and all the families and students who’ve helped to get it this far. After Service on Sunday, October 20, we will have a hamburger & hot dog cookout and some time to share stories. The community is invited to come and enjoy the service and lunch afterwards. More information may be found at CompelledChristians.com and on Facebook at facebook.com/compelledchurch.For questions or directions, feel free to contact Pastor Andy at 279-0000.

PROPHECY SUMMIT 2013Things are changing in our world.Economies are on the brink of collapse. Mass animal die-offs are occurring regularly. Weather is becoming wild and more difficult to predict. Society is much more violent. Severe earthquakes are happening in places that have never had an earthquake before. Scientists are even experimenting with human/animal hybrids and mixing human and plant DNA.And it’s getting worse.Everywhere you turn, people recognize that something is different. There’s a sense that something is coming, almost as though all of nature is holding its collective breath, waiting for some impending...something.What if there was ancient knowledge that could help us through these troubling events? Knowledge that foretells these very changes, and warns us that they are a foreshadow, precursors if you will, of more terrifying things to come. What if that same ancient knowledge also revealed what we need to do to navigate these frightening times?Join us as we take a look at this ancient knowledge and discover what this knowledge says, what it means, what is coming, and what YOU need to do about it.Is this the end? Come and find out October 25-27, 2013.For more information, visit www.myconnectingpoint.org/ or call 518.477.6927

THE LAW WRITTEN ON OUR HEARTS

On Sunday, October 20, 2012, the Stuyvesant and Nassau Reformed Churches will focus on the words of Jeremiah 31:27-34 in developing a theme titled “The Law Written on Our Hearts.” It is here where through the prophet Jeremiah, God proclaims the coming day when God’s people will no longer need a list of laws to live faithfully. They will be so consumed by a spirit of God’s law that it will be within them; it will be written on their hearts. The message will speak to how we are being formed as Christians through a whole range of Christian disciplines and practices. Join us and come to more fully understand how we, in our Christian growth, take on the ways of God as aspects of our character, God’s laws within us.The Stuyvesant Reformed Church begins worship at 9 a.m. in its sanctuary at the corner of Route 9J and Church Street, in the hamlet of Stuyvesant. The Nassau Reformed Church begins worship at 11 a.m. in its chapel on the second level of its Church-School-Building, 43 Church Street (Route 20) in the village of Nassau.

STORY DINNER HELPS OTHERS AT GILEAD LUTHERAN CHURCH

Donations from Gilead Lutheran Church’s Story Dinner helped a victim with colon cancer. The evening started out with a picnic supper with food donated by committee members as well as desserts donated by attendees.Following the meal, a very dear friend of Michelle Gordon’s told those people present of Michelle’s battle with stage four colon cancer. This would normally sound very depressing, but Michelle is the type of person who could add humor to a difficult story. At the end of the evening, people generously contribute $270.00 and walked away with the feeling of sadness of a family going through so much and yet a feeling of gratitude of being able to help in some way. That evening was slightly different from others which Gilead has had. Each month of dinners brings a different story and maybe words of a
