REPLACABLE PIN RACKING SYSTEM Philip Machine Co., N. Providence, R.I. For metal finishers Philip Machine's replacable pin system is an economical method to maximize rack life. Their detachable wire forms allow the user to replace the holding pins within minutes without replacing the entire rack. There is no stripping and no burn off. Hundreds of different wire-formed holding pins are available for at- tachment to plastisol- or nylon-coated fixtures. Direct-connect Anode Systems baskets signifi- cantly increase productivity and reduce operating costs. These low-cost baskets eliminate the wide top to bottom plating thickness variations, which are common in the longer rack configurations. These variations are caused by the electrical re- sistance of the titanium basket, which typically produces a higher current density at the top of the basket and a lower density at the bottom. Since the direct-connected anode basket power lead is attached to the center of the basket by means of a sealed submersible power cable, this resistance is significantly reduced and the plating thickness variation is cut in half. These baskets also elimi- nate anode bar cleaning and the problems associ- ated with poor electrical contact. Circle 157 on reader information card November 2001 25

Direct-connect Anode Systems baskets signifi- cantly increase productivity and reduce operating costs. These low-cost baskets eliminate the wide top to bottom plating thickness variations, which are common in the longer rack configurations. These variations are caused by the electrical re- sistance of the t i tanium basket, which typically produces a higher current density at the top of the basket and a lower density at the bottom.
