Many families are starting the feel the need for a change in their kitchen. It’s old, outdated, and some

stains are starting to become permanent.

The room has almost taken on a depressing, almost deathly feel that makes you want to spend as little

time in there as possible. You need a change, and all you can think of is to do a remodel.

Kitchen remodel

Remodeling a kitchen is a long and drawn out process.

It is quite expensive and difficult at this time of year.

With a family spending most of their time inside,

losing an entire room to a remodel for a few months

isn’t the ideal situation for anyone. Remodels can be

extremely uncomfortable for home owners.

The price tag associated with such a project probably

isn’t affordable right now either. With such a hefty

price to pay, is it worth it to remodel?

Usually, it’s not. Is it best to just stick with the kitchen as it is until you can afford it?

Sometimes that’s the best thing to do. It doesn’t have to be the answer though.

If you’re willing to spend some money on a project, you can do one simple thing to drastically improve

the look of your current kitchen to make it bearable: replace your countertops with granite.

Although this isn’t always the best thing to do, it is a great solution to the kitchen blues. There are

several reasons why too.

Granite

Granite tops are a great, simple way to modernize the look of your current kitchen without having to

completely remodel the thing. It looks nice in most existing kitchens, despite the style and color scheme.

It highlights and modernizes the feeling of the room. The counter can come in slabs as long as 10ft,

meaning you will need few, if any seams.

With only a few seams you can create an impressive countertop that feels extensive and expensive. It

comes with a diverse selection of colors. You can purchase from a range of vibrant blues and mottled

white down to midnight blacks and deep reds.

The color choice is especially good if you’re trying to match the color scheme of an existing kitchen—like

the one that is already in your home. You don’t have to adjust everything to match your counters.

Granite meets your needs by allowing you to have options in appearance. They look good, and are quite

functional too.

Unlike tile, granite lacks grout and cracks. Grout and cracks are havens for stains and crumbs.

Granite is long and continuously flat. It doesn’t come with grooves that stain easily and are difficult to

clean.

Cleaning

As you can imagine, they make the

cleaning process easy. You can also treat

the stone with an impregnating sealer

that will make it stain resistant for about

10 to 15 years.

You will need to only clean it with a stone

cleaner to preserve the integrity of the

sealer, but as long as you use the right

chemicals, your granite will stay looking

beautiful for a decade or more.

When your kitchen’s got you singing the

blues, and you can’t afford a remodel, see how granite can help your cause. In a lot of ways its look and

feel will make the kitchen a nice place to be in again.
