ANNEXURE - VI EAMCET-2012
PROCEDURE FOR CALCULATING THE RANKS An example given below shows how we arrive to the combined score and ranking. A. Marks secured in EAMCET examination
Subject Marks secured by a Candidate X
Marks secured by a Candidate Y
Maximum Marks
Mathematics / Biology 70 75 80
Physics 35 38 40
Chemistry 35 38 40
Total 140 151 160
B. Marks secured in Qualifying examination (10+2)
Subject Marks secured by a Candidate X
Marks secured by a Candidate Y
Maximum Marks
Mathematics / Biology 270 240 300
Physics 145 135 150
Chemistry 145 135 150
Total 560 510 600
C. Weightage calculation & Ranking i) For EAMCET with 75% weightage For X candidate : (140/160)X75 = 65.625 For Y candidate : (151/160)X75 = 70.781 ii) For qualifying exam with 25% weightage of group marks For X candidate : (560/600)X25 = 23.230 For Y candidate : (510/600)X25 = 21.250 iii) Combined Score For X candidate : 65.625+23.230 = 88.955 For Y candidate : 70.781+21.250 = 92.031 iv) Ranking of the candidate First Rank – to Y candidate Second Rank – to X candidate D. Criterion for Ranking in case of tie
I. By taking into account total marks in EAMCET II. By taking into account the marks secured in Mathematics/ Biology subjects in
EAMCET III. By taking into account the marks secured in Physics in EAMCET IV. The Grand total % of aggregate marks scored in the qualifying examination. For
example if a candidate scores grand total of 850 marks which includes language subjects also out of 1000 then the grand total % of aggregate is 85.
