LIBRARY & RESOURCE CENTRE

The ITM University Library and Resource Centre holds documents predominantly related to engineering, and its allied subjects and aims to develop a comprehensive collection of information resources that are useful for academic and research purposes. The Library and Resource Centre plays a proactive role to ensure that the information resources are acquired and organized to meet the present and future needs of its users.

The library holds books of all the branches it has: The School of Engineering, The School of Management and The school of Law. The library has thousands of books in it shelves. Not only books but also latest journals, magazines and newspapers. It also has a latest technology (OPEC) to find out the shelf number in which a particular book is placed as per the requirement of an individual and one can also easily find out whether a book is available or not. There is no need to search out on each and every shelf and also there is no need to ask from authorities present at library.

Current Awareness Services (CAS)

The main objective of the library is to provide necessary information to its clientele. CAS of ITM LRC is used to disseminate current information regarding the development in the library and to inform all the faculty and students about new arrival for each month.

Book Bank

It provides books related to particular subjects permanently after depositing certain fees for it. There is no need to re-issuing books again and again.

Reprography Facility

The LRC provides on the spot Xerox copies of articles or pages of books from its own collection, at a nominal rate of Rs. 1.00 per page. To encourage the research among the faculty members, they can get photocopies of costly reference books (i.e. Handbooks, Journals, and Encyclopaedias etc.).

RECOMMENDATIONS

Although there are thousands of books available but it dominates large number of engineering books, it must include more number of books of management as well as law section.

The books available are more of foreign authors so, it should include the books of Indian authors so that it could be more easier to understand the respective subject.

Seating capacity is less in library so it should be increased more.
