How Many Eggs Does a Woman Have? At birth, there are approximately 1 million

FUN FACTS

The average life span of a sperm is about 36 hours.

About 500 million sperm mature every day in a normal male adult. The sperm that are not used eventually get recycled back into the body.

Sperm cells contain receptors on the surface of the sperm head that are similar to odor receptors in the nose. This has lead researchers to believe that

sperm can detect the "odor" of the released egg, and are literally following its scent to locate it and attempt to fertilize it.
