West Shore Community College seeks to advance its law enforce-ment, corrections, and emergency telecommunicator programs by hir-ing a Director of Criminal Justice. The proper candidate should possess criminal justice, administrative, and teaching experience and demonstrate a history of excellent leadership. Effective interpersonal skills and commitment to the student- and community-focused mission of a community college are critical. Position will work closely alongside regional public safety agencies and is the primary liaison between the College and regulatory agencies like the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES), the Michigan Corrections Officer Training Council (MCOTC), and the Michigan Sherriff’s Coordi-nating and Training Council (MSCTC). This position serves as the Di-rector of West Shore’s police academy and local corrections academy and will hire and supervise adjunct faculty. Compensation starting at or above $65,571. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Township Board of the Township of Chippewa, Mecosta County, Michigan, has determined on its own motion to undertake certain public improvements consisting of the control of aquatic weeds and plants in Chippewa Lake by means of periodic removal by chemical harvesting and other methods (the “Improvements”), pursuant to Act 188 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1954, as amended, for the previously established Chippewa Lake Weed Control Special Assessment District. TAKE NOTICE that the Township Board of the Township of Chippewa will hold a public hearing on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., at the Chippewa Township Community Center, located at 10467 19 Mile Road, within the Township, to hear and consider any objections to the proposed Improvements and all other matters relating to said Improvements.TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that preliminary plans and estimates of cost for the Improvements are on file with the Township Clerk for public examination.The Township Board may proceed to carry out the proposed Improvements unless written objections from the record owners of land constituting more than 20% of the total land area in the proposed Special Assessment District to the Improvement are filed with the Township Board at or before the hearing.PROPERTY SHALL NOT BE ADDED TO THE EXISTING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT AND THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE OF COST SHALL NOT BE INCREASED BY MORE THAN 10% WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE AND PUBLIC HEARING.Periodic redeterminations of the cost of the Improvements may be necessary, without a change in the Special Assessment District, and in that event, such redeterminations may be made by the Township Board without further notice to record owners or parties in interest in the lands in the Special Assessment District, in accordance with the provisions of said Act 188.This Notice was authorized by the Township Board of the Township of Chippewa.Dated: July 7, 2021 Kristin Lytle, Township Clerk
