The strategic targets of the Irish Cancer Society (2008-2012) are: prevention of smoking in young people, early detection of colorectal cancer and fighting cancer through information and support (including psycho- oncology). We are the single largest voluntary supporter of cancer research in Ireland and are dedicated to promoting patient- relevant cancer research. The Irish Cancer Society invites applications for Irish Cancer Society Research Fellowships for 2009. Applications in line with our strategic targets and other areas of cancer research are sought. All applications will be assessed on merit, and awarded on excellence. Applications involving any of the following research areas are welcome: Epidemiology, Prevention, Laboratory, Clinical, Translational and Health Services Research. Applications in line with our strategic targets and and in other areas of cancer research are sought. All applications will be assessed on merit, and awarded on excellence.
