Introduction to NCH&C
Our Trust provides:
• Children’s services: – Healthy Child Pathway, including Surestart Centres – Disability and Specialist Health Pathway, including consultant outpatients
• Adult community services: – Organised into four localities, co-terminous with CCGs and social care – Inpatient rehabilitation, community nursing and therapy, continence and MSK
physiotherapy
• Specialist services: – Specialist neuro-rehabilitation – Amputee rehabilitation – Community dental services – Specialist nursing – Foot health – Stop Smoking services – Clinical Assessment and Treatment services

• 2,300 whole time equivalent staff

• Embedded in Medical Directorate
• Remit to increase capacity and research activity

What are we aiming for
For patients and the public
• Move to more community care provides opportunities for research
• Involve our population in the development of research hypothesis – what is important to them
•Provide more opportunities for patients to be involved – not just as participants
•Patients are research ambassadors – we would like them to encourage and challenge us to undertake research

• Engage partners to develop research pertinent to our population
• Increase our NIHR activity – studies and recruitment
• Improve our reputation as a research site
• Attract more Industry research; promote what we have to offer
• Attract research active clinical staff

• Increase NCHC clinicians as research leaders
• Improve access to research support services i.e. RDS, Norwich Research Park, UEA, NSPCCRO
• Strengthen opportunities to access grant funding
• Improve clinical services
