I doubt Google is too concerned about which mobile OS people use, just as long as
Google search remains top dog. The point of Android wasn't to dominate the market,
but to enable the non-connected world to connect at low cost. Market domination was
the by product of a low cost OS.

Not to mention that Google Photos already makes looping gifs from burst/series
photos on Android and elsewhere. This just addresses the iOS-speci c format of
Apple's Live Photos.

Dear Google,
WTF?! Why release something so cool to iOS and leave us, your Android faithful, without? I
say Boo on you!

Are Android users really this clueless about why iOS at this time. It makes use of Live
Photos which is an iPhone feature. Maybe Google should make a reading comprehension
app for Android.

I think it make sense to release the whole stack rather than just a stabilization app.
Google might be just testing the app on iOS users rst and then bring it to android.

actually, android devices also support burst shooting, which achieves the same

Because iOS is the one who has Live Photos now? Give it some time, and I am almost
sure it will come to Android.

WHY IOS? Because, the whole point of this is to turn live photos into stabilized gifs, they
have made an algorithm SPECIFICALLY for doing such a task. Perhaps sometime in the
future they'll bring it to videos and android "we hope to integrate this feature into existingproducts like Google Photos" hinthint, but for now it makes complete sense as to why it's
only on IOS dear god.

I agree with the concerns others are voicing here. Please don't forget about users of your
native ecosystem. I would love functionality like this on my Nexus 5x.

"Smartburst" is standard on the Nexus 6p and it is similar and very cool. No, it is not
available on the 5x, but then again "Live Photos" is only available on the newest/highest
powered iPhones too. [Nexus 6p uses a better processor than the 5x.]

Very weird, You should've released the app rst on android and then based on the feedbackthink about iOS. This is not very loyal of you google.

How would you propose to GET “Live Photos” onto an Android phone? There’s a reason
it’s released only for iOS. Very weird non-thinking.

+TJ Horner Yes, Android....lol. I use it too so don't get offended. But I nd the comments
here especially the ones bitching about this not being on Android just too funny. It is like
Android users can't read. Everyone should calm down. Google doesn't care what OS you
use as long as you are using their services. So these comments about this being iOS

Google doesn't have enough money to buy Apple. Not including the cost of Apple stock
Google would need an additional $200+ billion in cash.
Yes, Apple has a $200+ billion dollar cash reserve.

Its completely unacceptable that Google would release this app for iOS without a
simultaneous Android release. Its a disrespectful slap in the face for the people who've
bought into Googles own ecosystem and shows how little Google apparently cares aboutits own users. For. Shame. Google.

Many iOS users will fall in love with this. It would be great to extend the app to the Android
users with the ability to shoot a Live Photos like and then stabilise them :).
