RESEARCH ISSUE

Stress is a prevalent and costly problem in today's workplace.

About one-third of workers report high levels of stress. One-quarter of employees view their jobs as the number one stressor in their lives.

Stress is the major cause of turnover in organizations.

Workplace stress is most controllable by the organizations

Hence,workplace stress need to be measured due to its increasing importance

What is the effect of workplace stress on performance of employees?

Effects of Workplace Stress have been considered by many big companies & organizations.

But what about the private bank units operating in the city of Indore?

Is it given the same importance?

Do they keep a check on the level of performance and stress levels?

How does this workplace stress affect the performance of the employees?

OBJECTIVE

This research is to carry out the study that how much stressed the employees of the private banks are and how do their stress affect their performance in work particularly in the city of Indore. For this purpose the level of stress(no.of stressors) on employees and their performances under the effect of such stressors will be studied.

H1:There is no significant effect of stress on bonuses

PROPOSED STATISTICAL ANALYSIS

1.To apply the Karl Pearson’s correlation method to find out the degree of correlation existing between Stress and various variables of performance (H1,H2,H3)

2.Then applying the Chi-square test to measure the strength of association between variables (stress & performance)

UTILITY OF FINDINGS

1.Banks can know the stressors in their working environment.

2.Banks can know how stressed out its employees are and whether this level of stress is good or bad for the employee and Bank’s performance.

3.Employees can know are they actually satisfied with their jobs or are experiencing burnout.

LIMITATIONS

1.Generalizability of findings is questionable due to- a)Small sample b)Non-probabilistic sampling techniques involved. c)Responses may be biased as employees might not be willing to disclose and share all the information. d)Resposes may be biased. e)Responses are highly influenced by the of the employee at the time of responding.
