Production
Production is a product that is manufactured or produced.
For example: A Film being released would be classed as production as it is now being manufactured.
Distribution
The distribution of a film is the process through which a movie will go through and make available for an audience to watch etc.
Marketing
The way in which a product or media text is sold to a target audience.
Exhibition
This is a large scale public showing or a small public showing depending on where the movie is released. This can be seen in a cinema, from an online source, streaming sources or shops.
Audience
The people/group of consumers for who the media text is constructed for as well as anyone extra who takes to it.
Institution
A large organization that produces films such as a film studio like Universal Studios.
Digital
the storage and transmission of information by reducing it to digits and then reassembling it for an exact reproduction.
Ownership
Ownership is a company that owns large numbers of companies in various media such as television, radio, publishing, movies and the internet.
Convergence
The merging of separate communication such as publishing, computers, film, music and broadcasting, which are made possible by, advances in technology.
For example: when the ipod first came about, Microsoft tried to become a contender by bringing out zune. Nobody knows about zune but everyone knows about the ipod therefore this is convergence.
Synergy
The coming together of two separate media texts or products that share similar characteristics so that one helps to market the other.
New Technologies
New technology are things such as androids, phones, tablets, computers or anything which is new within the world of media.
Hardware
The physical equipment used to produce, distribute and exhibit media texts.
